Enough never will be enough. If they upgraded it to 80 watts, someone would just say they wanted 160 watts.
Incidentally, there is a possibly major update coming for it real soon. I don't know what it entails, or if they are even going to upgrade the wattage. But I say it's 'possibly major' because they have enlisted some ECF members as beta testers for this update. Can't wait to see what it is since I already love it in it's current form.

IMO, It will still be 40 watts ... much like other ProVaris ... the Radius likely vapes smoother.

30 watts on a ProVari is different than 30 watts on something else

ProVari owners having been using the term "I Get it Now" for years

I would have to agree Willy. I own a bunch of mods but just one ProVari and it does produce a smooth and consistent vape. I'm glad I picked up the Radius and haven't been over 30W but I vape right around .4/.5 pretty much all the time. Since I picked up the Billow V2 it hasn't come off the Radius, the combination produces great flavor. And looks great!

Not really sure how anybody can compare a mechanical mod to a regulated mod ;)
2 completely different animals...like what's the best glove? Baseball glove or driving glove....

I was making a tounge in cheek comment in regards to the ad nauseum threads over the last few years of Provari vs REO. It has always been baseball glove/driving glove. At least now the Provari is the correct shape-a box.

All my box mods are sitting on the shelf pouting.

They did try to catch. Finally they mastered 3-button interface.
3 buttons would've ruined the 2, 2.5 and the P3. It makes sense on this one. I kinda doubt their decision was based on the istick....lol. People have whined about ProVari since they started building mods. "It's too expensive"..."It is only 15, 30, 40 watts"...."No temp control?" ..."$200 for a plastic mod???"...."it only has 1 button!"...."The screen is boring..."..."I can only use button tops?"..."it's ugly"..."it's heavy"..."provari owners are snobby jerk elitists"...."it doesn't even do VW!".........(insert complaint here)

My Dad use to tell me "Son, a dog never barks at a parked car."

For what it is and what it's designed to do, it's absolutely fantastic. Beats anything I've seen in it's class. Will it fire off a .2 build in an rda? No. But I have other mods for that. Does it fire my kayfuns and Squape R's perfectly and efficiently? Sure does...every time. I kinda think ProVape shows their true colors by NOT catering to the entire community. They have enough class to stay out of the watt wars and let the other guys collect that money. I shop ProVape when I want a mod to run my higher ohm, lower power stuff. I shop other places for the more radical stuff. But then, that's just me. I don't call Dominos for Lobster Tails either.

Wait, what?? Dominos has Lobster Tails??

    Let me make some calls.

The Radius doesn't fill any need I have but I still use my 2.5 almost everyday.

To make that in the US (80W) would require 2 internal resistance matched 18650's in a sealed battery casing to keep liability costs resonable. With the vast majority of vapers using less than 30W it dosen't make sense to make that in the US.
Very similar argument that was had against 15W, then 20W and again @ 40W.

Tis a BS argument. Hopefully I'm still around when Provape realizes it and makes a mod useful for me.

Remember... this day was supposed to never come. The day you think isn't going to happen is 2 yrs or less away.

    Mark my words.

Rob made regulated mods under the REO moniker as well.

Indeed.........and that was already covered in post #35 and #36.;)

Since I owned 3 VV Reo Grands back in 2012-2013, I knew that all REOs were not mechanical.

As a standalone statement though, my saying I don't see how you can compare a mechanical to a regulated mod still stands. You can't make a 1 on 1 comparison strictly based on "box shaped PVs".

I dunno what is with boxes. 3 years ago cylindrical shapes dominated. There were even topics about how REOs were "ugly"
    Reo ugly?!
but the box shape seemed to gain more acceptance when cheaper devices like the Innokin MVP came out.

Fast forward to 2015, its the "year of the box". Probably because of cheaper devices like the eleaf istick

I suspect 2016 or 2017 it would be something entirely different, esp. if battery technology was able to keep up with PV innovation (which it won't and can't quite yet).

I think a lot of it is psychological, how things feel in hand, etc. Some newly quit smoking folks may not be able to "relate" to a box shape, then they hold one and realize its fine. I seem to be moving in opposite direction, one day box shaped just didn't feel good to me and that may change again a year from now.

I'm a very FICKLE VAPER!!!! After 3+ years I can honestly say I have not found my unicorn, although I've thoroughly enjoyed many devices. None of them, so far, anything I "can't live without" and I'm always happy ( but perplexed), seeing other people who just find something they love love love love and never need to stray from *their beloved.*

The Radius, to me, is one good looking PV though!

I actually include all mod types and styles when I compare them. Regulated, mechanical, tubes and boxes are all in there. Same with cars. Sports cars, family cars, compact cars, manual or automatic, 4 wheel drive, you get the idea :). I have my preferences, but what I want to do with these machines has a lot to do with which I buy too.

My first box mod was a Reo Grand I got a couple of years ago. I never thought I would like that shape, but it quickly became my favorite. The advantage of not having to put these in a cup or some kind of container so it couldn't fall over and that they also don't roll is the biggest reason for me. I also find them easier to keep in a pocket.

Works well for me, but there will always be tube styles around for the folks who like those.

Back on topic, the Radius sure looks good and ProVape support is awesome. Go for it @Rocketpunk
