Don't believe everything you read- read it again- that was cut and paste from another devices thread- not this one...

I actually dont mind if I have to wait, I just want a flawless perfect device that actually works. I don't know how many time I've gotten devices that didn't work properly or just was horrible. From what I've seen so far this thing will be #1.

I've got 4 mods and well they get me by, I can wait and prefer too so the suspense can build up even bigger and I can get one sweet PV!

Keep up the good work Dave and the pro gang!

I'm assuming it's a protection feature I actually had a e1 code as well with one of my 510 attys ... I removed battery reinstalled and all was ok...

The error might b a result of possibly moving the coil a little when removing the bridge.. Causing a short circuit of some sort that your other mod isn't recognizing...,,

While there are much more "EE" type sophisticates/experts in here, logic might indicate we cannot really compare one de-bridged atty to another. I would think the process of de-bridging would inherently create too many variables to compare any one to another. Pulling the bridge can dislodge and/or move parts within the atty. While the same atty might continue to work on a dumb mod, this device is designed to look for potential safety issues and protect both the user and the device. Dumb mods don't have the circuitry to look for this and they do not have the more fragile circuitry which could be potentially damaged by such a short.

I am happy the protection circuits seem to be functioning. When we de-bridge attys, we risk damaging the atty. When we put a de-bridged atty on a smart device, we risk activating the protection circuits. At least this is how I see it.

Don't mean to sound harsh - especially as I have no electronics qualifications. I have pulled bridges and destroyed attys in the process. I have pulled bridges and had the attys work just fine (on dumb mods). I just think there is no way to compare one de-bridged atty to another.

You're quite correct. And an intermittent short is a tough problem to trace. Just unscrewing the atty could resolve the fault. It's not that you debridged the atty, it's that when you debridged it, something may have moved created a weak or intermittent short. Maybe even a hair of mesh ended up in the wrong place... Think of a hose with a pin hole in the side- most of the water will go through the pipe and on the end, you'd never know that there was a leak if you were drinking off the end of the hose.

These are some of the risks you have to accept when you pull the bridge. FWIW, I once asked SLB to custom build de-bridged attys figuring I'd do a co-op and get 500+ of them. They refused saying that the bridge was structurally important. It could also have nothing to do with removing the wyck and just be that the centerpost is loose and pushed up a bit too much. Either way, the Provari was telling you it detected a short.

I'd be cautious about using that atty-if you continue to use it, keep an eye on the resistance.....

Wild guess: I suspect it might have to do with the way each person drips and vapes. For the most part (and I use 801 series with bottom air-holes) I never get juice leaking from my attys. I drip 4 drops and pretty much vape it gone. Some people over-drip and/or occasionally flood. Either way, over time, juice can build up and/or dry out during non-use and clog the mesh preventing wicking. So the atty may appear dead. Pulling the bridge seems to remove that build-up and allow the juice to directly access the coil. Some people have found longer atty life doing this.

However, we are moving into the realm of smart DEVICES (compared to mods). I would suggest those who want to save $$ on cheap batts and extend atty life (pulling bridges) reconsider these practices on smart devices.

Frankly, I could never understand saving $2 or $3 on cheaper batts and taking safety risks. When it comes to using technology, I just assume rotate out my attys and if I pull a bridge - I'd use in on a dumb mod leaving only fresh ones on my smart device(s).
