Make sure you check the specs on the batteries. I noticed some of the 18650 and 18500 batteries are much longer in size and when you screw on the end cap it doesn't go all the way down onto the tube. It will still work fine but you will have a little gap between the tube and the end cap. The high drain AW's fit perfect! I highly recommend getting the proper battery :)

Most of the non IMR batteries that I have tried go up to about 5.1V with a 3ohm atomizer, this is the max those batteries can output. Once you have the AW high drain cells you are good all the way up to the max the device can do.

How tight of a squeeze is it with the 18650 extension cap? the 2900 measure out at 68.16mm.

Most of the non imr batts have the PCB and this is where the extra space is taken up. They still work fine but the end cap doesn't seat all the way. The AW's fit perfect and with the very high efficiency of the device you will get great battery life without having to go to a high mah battery.

The AW IMR batts measure out at 65mm and the smaller 18490 is 49mm

I think he said it works using PWM -- well, I think he said rapid pulses of voltage or something like that, but I took it to mean PWM, so I could be wrong. I know it's posted somewhere around here.

cool...thanks man! i figured that was the only way to really step up voltage efficiently....I really want one of these...

Just got home and found a nice surprise in the mailbox. I haven't had much time to play with it yet because I'm about 5 min away from starvation and desperately need to make some dinner. As the beta testers stated the menu is very easy to scroll through, and the unit also comes with an instruction manual. The build quality of the ProVari is vari well done. The end cap screwed on silky smooth. Not a hint of binding or friction in the threading. The unit has a nice solid feel to it as well. So far I'm impressed, and feel it is worth every penny of my hard earned money I spent to purchase this.

I'll post back later after I've had my dinner and a little more time with my new toy :)
