Folks, I believe that those LR atty's will cause issues. Here's an example.
1.5Ω atty at 4.0volts gives you 10.6 watts but draws 2.6 amps
2.3Ω atty at 5.0volts gives you 10.8 watts but only draws 2.17 amps.

I realize that many people own 1.5Ω atty's but they are not a good choice on this device because at 3.8 volts you are exceeding the amperage limit of 2.5 amps.
If I'm incorrect, please set me straight!

If you're going to vape at 3.7, why even buy a ProVari?

What?? Why not?
Bc when I drip that's where I'm most comfortable....
And other than maybe a pass through what other mod will give you the consistency of this unit?
I highly doubt I'm the only one who vapes @ 3.7 with a vari....

The beauty of VV is that you CAN find that sweet spot with any atty. The only point I was trying to make is that if you use a LR atty, be careful not to turn it up past 3.7v. Also, with a regular atty you can go higher than 10.6 watts and not trip the safety.

True too... For me 10.6 is a little to much for me even with my 2.5 ohm 510 atty i hang around 4.7-4.8v I prefer closer to a 9 watt vape

You are correct. Not sure what the limit is on the production devices but David did suggest some caution with 1.5 attys. I'd think you are right up against it... I ran a few days at 3.6 with 1.7 ohm attys during the beta and was fine.

consistency and safety- Remember- in an unregulated device 3.7 is whatever the loaded battery is at... 4.1(or 4.2) off the charger down to as low as you take it- 2.9 or less.... on the provari 3.7 is 3.7 is 3.7 regardless of weather the battery is fresh off the charger or fully drained, and regareless of the load.

I vape from 3.6 to 3.8 using a 1.5 ohm atty. The big difference is that the power on the provari is regulated so you get a steady reliable hit regardless of where the battery happens to be in its discharge cycle. There is a world of difference between a battery trying to supply 3.7v under heavy discharge and regulated power.

FWIW, the larger PCB manufacturers were warning back in October that there were 90 day backlog and they expected issues delivering PCB's as we got close to the holidays. I'm sure some of the smaller shops picked up some large unanticipated orders at a premium price.

I think what happened was with the economy the way its been a lot of companies waited until last minute to have parts made and its overloaded the system to create a backlog.

The article you read Jim, it sounds like its been piling up for a couple of months and gridlocked.

I agree that what you are saying is true but that said, I think the beauty of the Vari is that we're able to experience more and better options than 3.7. If people are finding that their sweet spot is 3.7 then the atty/carto/juice mfgs are producing their products well but then the wide range of variations becomes less exciting. Hell, ProVape could just produce a regulated 3.7 device and all of those content to stick w/3.7 could get out of my way in the pre-order line, ha-ha!
