Hmmm... Updates, updates, updates.... Wonder what they could Be? ;)
Just hang on guys, and gals... It will be worth the wait!

Ok kenny were is the updates I'm loving my Vari I want to know what else I'm gonna be ordering from Provape. Oh and here is an idea if it hasn't been brought up I would love to see a adapter that would make an ego mega atty or tank .... up to the Vari I know alot of people (including me) that are wanting to uses those on there Vari's. I'd just hate to use a ill lookin adapter on my awsome, sleek and well built Vari.

I got my provari today. Unfortunately I forgot to order the extender cap for the 18650's I purchased and have no 18500's or 18490's. Trust me that the only thing worse than waiting for USPS for your provari is holding one in your hand and not being able to vape it. So ......!!!

*eek* Yep, that would be worse. Sorry man.

I would think you wouldn't see any change. Oxidation is a function of the metal used in the end cap, it has nothing to do with battery chemistry or circuitry. Electrical flow between two different metals can cause an electrolytic action - basically an inefficient form of electroplating - but that also has to do with the metals involved, and the fact that there's an electrical flow, it also wouldn't be affected by the chemistry or circuitry of the battery.

logical- I won't argue with you - yes, electroplating and annodizing too are forms of oxidation - . Could be interaction with the tabs on the chargers we're using (who knows what alloy they used), could be just age/exposure causing surface oxidation- could even be from handling them?
That said, I went through about 4.5 ml today over 12 hrs using my vapemate with a 18650 that I sanded and charged. Wish I had left one without sanding to compare against. This is more in line with what I had been experiencing with the beta unit -Last week I was getting as little as 1/2 that. i have alot more testing to do before drawing any conclusions, including using HV atties.... I'd like to say that the sanding improved things but you could argue that its just in my head - all I can say is it's a simple thing worth a try if you are expereincing short run times. YMMV.

So now that the cat is out of the bag, I had one of the production units from that batch and got it replaced.
Here's some data off of a device from last week's run- :
Floating Voltage off of a calibrated Fluke 289
Floating Voltage at Start: 4.23V
Floating Voltage when light starts flashing: 3.551V
Floating Voltage at cutoff: 3.528V
Time from flash to cutoff- ~20min normal vaping.

ProVari Readings
Start Voltage 4.1V
Light Flashing voltage: 3.6
Cut off Voltage (last reading): 3.4

I'm not going to try and interpret anything just yet- that was just one cycle- I would say that the floating voltages indicate that the battery is certainly in the range I'd expect to see when the light starts flashing and I'm surprised I was able to go another 20 minutes before the provari cut me off - I think this is the way we want it to work- if you use it past the flashing point consistently you may shorten the life of your battery but it's your fault cause they warned you.....

... hopefully tomorrow i can get some time to fix my home made atty test connector (i have to resolder the lead to the centerpost) and I'll get some numbers off of the battery at each stage loaded against 2 Ohms.
