Just wondering who owns both devices and could give a comparrison, review or your thoughts. I found a good deal on the classifieds for a satin provari, couldn't really afford it but I bought it anyway. Don't get me wrong, I love my Vamo's, chrome and SS, best device I've ever used. I guess I just do too much damn surfing here and couldn't get away from the provari hype. I will run my Vamos into the ground (and I take excellent care of them) but only time will tell how long they last and if they can last 3-4 months it's a no brainer I will buy more as they're awesome for the price, but when they go bad that's it, just buy a new one! With the provari you can always send it in for repairs or upgrade at very reasonable cost from what I've read and great customer service here in the USA. I should be getting my provari later this week and will perform my own testing using the same voltage, heads and juice. All I can say now is I'll always have a Vamo on hand as a backup or main device. BTW did I say I love my Vamo's and will always have one so long as they still make 'em!

I think you should let us know what you think garyd......

The ONLY reason I don't own a Provari, is the introduction of the Vamo.
Vamo addressed the only shortcomings of the Provari at a LOW price tag.

I still may buy a Provari, but I am waiting, for now, hoping they will update with a quick menu system like Vamo.

Yes I'll let you guys know my honest opinion. My main reason for buying besides durability and service for the device was the fact that many provari owners say the flavor/taste of the vapor is much better. My gut feeling is I won't notice any difference but we'll see.

I decided to get a ProV till I discovered they fire the coil when using the menu. If I received one that did that & didn't know, I would send it back as a defect. I think I would send it back anyway. Not hating, but that would irritate me. Sorry for the OT.

Not sure I see the issue with that. My VAMO fires when I perform the 5 clicks to turn off...

It's not firing in the menu it's firing in the 5 on the way to the menu. How long are your clicks for you to notice? The provari vs. vamo are two totally different playing fields hence the different price points.

Where does it say that?
I have a ProVari and it doesn't fire the coil when going through the menu, it does so when I check the bat life though, but I thought that was part of the electrics for it.

What maka said, they don't fire while using the menu. You'll be pulsing the coil while tapping it 5 times to access the menu, but its very minimal.

It runs the coil while checking battery voltage to see the voltage under load. You'll get a different reading in the provari & on a multimeter because the PV is checking while there is a current.

I own both and find the vape better on the VAMO w/ my AGAT+. I also like VW much better so far.

The ProVari is a stellar device and their service to me has been beyond exceptional. They just need to update their model to include some of the new features that are all but standard on PVs costings 1/3 the price or they're going to lose market share. Knowing them, they'll hopefully innovate something that will keep the knockoffs playing catchup.

Vamo looks good and I plan to buy one of the SS models. My Provari rolled out of the truck last might on the concrete driveway and went CLACK! I picked it up and it still vaped fine. My Vivi Nova mini suffered a dislodged bottom cap from the fall and I had to use a large pair of channel locks to compress the metal bottom back into the metal ring on the tank. This morning, it's all fine and I don't see any visible damage from the fall. That's happened many times, I'm ashamed to admit, but not once has the Provari refused to fire afterwards.

The difference to me is service after the sale. I won't talk about mil spec components. I'm really surprised that no one has opened up a service center for high end ecigs. Many of us would pay $25 for a repair we couldn't pull off ourselves. Given the availability of parts, most of us could affect a repair on our mods, but the availability of parts is key.

Time and competition will even the playing field among high end mods. Those that are made well will rise to the top. Vamo seems to be establishing its place in the rankings. That's why I'm interested in acquiring one for VV backup. I really don't care about VW. It's all about reliability and solid regulated voltage delivery to me. The Provari has shown me that stainless steel is tough enough to last and still look good after wear and tear. For me, it needs to be stainless.

If they got fewer fanboys (their normal fans are fine, but the whagarble crowd..) and VW, it would definitely be on my list to get.

I agree. If we didn't constantly have people trying to shove one down our throats, I would probably have considered one. Same thing with the Rios and for a while with the Go-Go's? for a while.

Bought my original Provari a year ago. Very reliable. Been dropped several times. Bulletproof. Bought a new version a couple months ago. Even better. Bought a Vamo out of curiosity 2 weeks ago. It died this morning. Tried everything - batts, carts, button pushes - nothing. Regret purchase. I've read a number of posts here that describe problems and failures of the Vamo in trying to find a fix.

This is not intended to "shove a Provari" at anyone - just my experience. Hope it helps.

I have both and I would have to say in a fight it's really not a comparison with the ProVari. The ProVari build quality is superior and the electronics are superior. The voltage output is superior HOWEVER with having said all that I absolutely LOVE my Vamo! There are a couple nit picky things that I don't like about the Vamo as well. Let me preface this by saying that I have been using my ProVari well before getting the Vamo so I was used to certain things.

Pro's for the Vamo
Looks Sweet - BEAST
3 Battery Configurations with 2 sizes
Cost - unreal for the money
Variable Watts
Screen is nice and bright

Cons for the Vamo - call me nit picky but....
The rattlesnake sound which you do not get with a ProVari
It fires for a split second even after you let go of the button
Your wattage or voltage settings reset when you take out the battery
Not sure of the longevity of the chrome finish
User interface is good but not great - not as simple as the ProVari

So these are my takes on it. I love my Vamo and feel it's the best device hands down for the price. But in a prize fight there's no competition with the ProVari and I'm not a fanboy of anything, just giving my honest opinion.

Would you please explain the highlighted part with some more detail? I'm always hearing it the other way around, with people not liking the single button on the Provari?
