It just works.

I've had mine for about 3 years. It's fallen off my work table a few times and had a few go's at a few parking lots. Just a few weeks ago I sent it in to be upgraded and it cost me a few bucks.

I bought another one off of a friend that didn't work. Told ProVape that I just bought it off a friend and it didn't work when I sent it in. They fixed it without charging me a thing.

I'm not sure how it could do more or cost me less. Both of those ProVari's have cost me a few pennies a day. It's not a Holy Grail, it's just works and keeps on working. And if for some odd reason it stops working, there is a place in the US to send it to that can fix it for little to no cost.

Google search is your friend. Use it. This question gets asked every day it seems. The questions are the same. The answers are the same. Do some homework, student.
I went to the pro ape site AND DID MY HOMEWORK b4 I posted. If it were a vv/VW I mite think more on getn on , true the voltage is .1 increments I'd like wattage to but just me. IMO theprvari is like the iPhone everybody's got one or wants one. Maybe I'll get one someday but til then im good with what I have.

As a ProVari and Windows phone owner, what little of that I could understand, I did find funny.

Yes I did my homework on it , but that didn't tell me why people rave about it. I started the post to get opinions from provari owners. As for my spelling mistakes I was typing one handed laying down using my HP touch pad . Now someone said it just works , my Sid works. What makes the provari better than the Sid or the MVP and the like. I can type using correct English .

What liquid are you vaping?

Thank you, that is much better!

As for what makes it better, it uses a cleaner power management circuit, it's regulated at 800hz vs. the 37hz or 103hz chips the others use. It also doesn't exhibit the power drop you see on many other VV/VW units. What you set it at, is what you get, within .2v (from the tests I've seen) vs. the .5v or more, drop many others give you. This is why you have to run the voltage up higher on other mods than on a Provari.
It's built like a tank, I can drop it on concrete, throw it on carpet, have it roll down the driveway and so on. The only time I heard one didn't survive was when it was hit with a lawn mower, but most times if you drop it on tile, the tile breaks and the Provari still works.
I can send it in and get it repaired, as I've had to do once! I left a tank of juice on it for too long while I was playing with mechanical's and the juice leaked onto the board and corroded it. Provape fixed it for free for me, even though it was clearly my fault! Cost me like $7 to ship it in? Where do you send your SVD to when it breaks? I've been hearing more and more people having MVP's with dead batteries, how they get them fixed?
Honestly, I don't care what you use, if it works for you then I am happy as a clam! But when people say "I can buy five of these, or four of these for the same price as a Provari!" Yes, yes you can, and you will have to, if not even more, to get the same life span that you get from a Provari.
I wanted an Evic when they first came out, my choices where the Provari, the Evic and a stainless Z-Max, at the time the Evic was $149, the Z-Max was $129, it wasn't much of a choice after reading the Provari reviews. Now you can get an Evic for $50 if you shop right? The SS Z-Max is around the same price now as well. Had I been facing those prices, I might have gone another way until I read the reviews on the Evic. Heads popping off, software locking up, updates not working and so on, no thanks!
A good friend of mine asked me about vaping, he was sucking down Swisher sweet cigars like candy and wanted to quit. I sent him home with my Provari. He bought a Provari himself but was still wanting to know what all the hype about VW was so he bought a Z-Max as well. He had the Z-Max for a week before he sold it and bought two more Provari's. He could tell the difference in the chips, the 37hz vs. 800hz and didn't care about VW after that.
Not really sure how much more I can tell you as to why it is what it is. If you don't want to buy one, then don't, there are tons of other things out there that work and that's what makes it nice getting started now vs. when I started. It's all in what works for you, who cares what I, or the others think?

objectively as possible, here's the thing.
as several have stated this subject is repeated here almost daily, and the same replies are ground out over and over, and yet someone will show up tomorrow and ask this same exact question without doing a quick forum search first.
going to provape's site shows you cheacked out the product, now it is time to actually research the answers your asking for.

go to the search up top of the page. choose advanced search, check the all types box, in the keyword box type in provari and choose "search title only"

you will get 3000+ pages related to the provari, many asking the exact same question you are.

we dont mind helping out but from our side of the coin, we get tired of repeating ourselves daily when this has been answered in very great detail and the question can be answered in 30 seconds of searching.

The more I see of the iPhone-Provari comparison the less I feel I want to get one (a Provari) :)
Fine, no one's holding a gun to your head to purchase either one, so don't get a Provari. You're happy. I'm happy. Everyone is happy. Case closed.

Too many people are too lazy to do a simple search. If I have a question about a PV or other gear, I do a google search and find the answer. You Tube is also a great resource for information.

It should be obvious that the Provari is a popular device. There's many reasons why this is so, and it is not because of any "elite status" cliche that non-owners attribute that to.

Great story. I'm not really into the whole, "let's be negative just to be negative", thing, but I would be interested in what you do want to get.

I didn't get a Windows phone because everybody else wants one. Frankly, I can leave it on a bench in a busy shopping mall and come back an hour later and it will still be there because they are so unpopular. I got it because it works perfectly for what I need a phone to do. The same concept is in everything I have purchased in the last 20 years. It has to do exactly what I need it to do, reliably, and for an extended period of time.

Last car went for over 300k miles with nothing more than typical maintenance. Current car has just a few miles less than 100k and has only needed oil, oil filters, air filters, wiper blades, and a set of tires to let the gasoline push it along. (Haven't even needed brakes done.)

Over 3 years ago, after graduating from the standard 180 mAh Joye 510's, I wanted a large battery mod that fit my usual criteria. Unfortunately I was wrong and even though it had every reason to be a good quality long lasting mod, it couldn't stand up to my harsh usage. (The Precious for anyone wondering and/or can remember that far back.) The ProVari was next and it does what I need it to do so I'm happy with it. It just works and keeps on working. The one I purchased second-hand didn't work and ProVape fixed it for nothing more than the cost to send it to them.

I don't recommend them to others unless their criteria matches mine. I don't care if anyone likes my ProVari. My oldest son is happy with his Zmax and that's great. My sister is happy with her eGo and that's great. My cousin loves her Kamry and that's....yep... great. I have a couple friends who love their high-end mechanicals and that's great. I have a couple friends who make their own mechanicals and think they are great, so I don't disagree.

OP asked what made the ProVari special. The thing that makes is special to me is that it works and keeps working for years despite my abuse.

TLDR: I like my Windows phone. I like my ProVari. I'm completely clueless as to why I was quoted by a poster who derives negative feelings about things that are compared to iPhones.

Not gonna go over this in detail since all the above posters already have. What you get with a Provari is reliability, good build quality, and customer service. I don't own a Provari (although I'd like to in the near future) but I've heard many good things, like the great power regulation, unlike cheaper vv/vw devices that use pwm. In vaping, many people swear by certain devices, whether it be the Provari, Dna20, or the Reo, it's all just personal preference and what fits your needs. If a Provari doesn't fit your needs, then find something that does.

And there's certainly no shortage of options (much to our delight)! :toast:

Ok, my meant-to-be-slightly-humorous comment seems to have upset a lot of people. Basically what I meant was: I'm not a fan of iPhones, and therefore I don't like the iPhone being compared to the Provari. Not particularly funny, but I don't see how it's particularly offensive either (at least to Provari owners). Now, maybe I included the wrong quote, sorry for that, but I seriously meant no offense. Better stay out of any discussions regarding the Provari from here on.

yeah, I am ready to toss my itaste mvp v2 in the classies… it's weak… it's clunky and it's heavy… poor fit and finish… 5volts on it sure doesn't feel like 5 volts on one of my 'merican mods… Had a few of these foreign models… and only the 3.7 egos were keepers…
just a preference…

I am looking at a provari, opus, vapor shark right now… should probably just grab the provari ;-) been wanting one since they came out…

I have been loving my vaprlife fixed 5 volt mods for a couple years… they hit like champs...but wanting a nice single batt vv for a while… I am sure the provari would deliver consistently…

do most provari owners have the extension cap and 18650's?

Well that's the beauty of it, you can rock whatever battery you want! I bought the min with the sole intention of getting the Kir Fanis 18650 extension tube to have the best of both worlds. Come to find out, I don't want it! I like the form factor of the mini as is and don't mind changing a battery now and then. I've used a FS Provari and just didn't like the "feel" of it myself, it just felt "clunky" and big to me.
The FS with the extension, no way, no thank you!
I can stick the mini in my pocket-T and go about life, the FS is just too large for that.
But there are many on here that like the FS version just fine and even others that like the FS with the ext. on it, and they would call me crazy for liking the mini so much!
None of us are right mind you, it's what works for you, and there aren't that many VV/VW mods out there that give you this flexibility. Buy the mini and you can use anything from '350's to '650's, buy the FS and you can use '490's/500's and '650's. Neither is a bad choice IMO, just a matter of what works for you!
