Hi Kas - do you think it matters that this one is INR (vs. AW's IMR)? Does it matter that this was a flat top and the button top has been added by a 3rd party? Also am wondering if the addition of the button top will still allow it to fit our Provari mods? And why does this vendor (imrbatteries) have a warning not to use w/e-cigarette, vaporizer or similar device? Do you think this is just to protect them from possible liability? (it's a scary warning and other websites do the same - 18650batterystore.com)

I'm driving myself crazy researching batteries for my 3 old 2.5 minis and a classic 2.5, now that the last of my AW18490s are quickly fading. Fortunately my Radius is working fine and I LOVE IT still - have no interest in using any other mod (looked at the Dani, not just expensive but way beyond what I need). For battery replacements, I've searched and searched, read tons of posts and blogs, wrote to users, wrote to Mooch - but still lost, dazed and confused. Hopefully I'm not intruding here, but where else can I go for specific ProVari info?
I do have the extension cap for my minis (also fits the 2.5 regular) and would like to switch to an 18650 for them. However, as y'all probably already know, button tops are not easy to come by. I'm also at a loss as to IMR, INR, NCR, etc. - I know what they mean (thx google) but is one better than another for the minis? Anyone have a clear and simple direction to point me in? Any help much appreciated
Still have button tops here but I can't recommend which ones.

18650 3500mAh High Drain Button Top Battery Rechargeable 3.7V Orbtronic-Holder included i've used Orbtronic batteries in the past and they were exceptional... @DPLongo22 might have more recent/specific recommendation about them. Good luck.

@curious8, I'm not DPLongo, but I'll take the issue for him as we partner in all things vape. Enaud's suggestion is good. If you want slightly less cost and can do with slightly less mAh, we'd recommend these (and bought many):

    3000mAh 18650 Battery 20A-35A Li-ion 3.7V Button Top Rechargeable High Drain H-IMR - Orbtronic

I don't know about the 18490's, but someone posted these a few weeks ago. They are right at the same length as my old AW's, based on the spec's they have listed. I have not ordered any of them myself, I bookmarked them because I was surprised that they were the same lenght. :|

    LG HG2 18650 3000mAh 20A Battery - Button Top

KAS, I would not recommend these for the older 2 series Provis because of the add on button and extra (unknown) length.

"Please note this is an original flat top LG HG2 18650 cell with an added button top by a third party manufacturer and and is longer than a standard flat top 18650 battery."

I only know I have used the brown HG2 for years, in almost all of my devises, with no problems at all ever. I did not see on that site, that the button top had been added though, sorry I missed that. :(

Katdarling, you ARE a darling (how many times have ya heard that)! Just ordered the battery, as well as another for my Radius plus a new Xtar charger (oops, way overpaid for the charger at Orbtronic, sigh). So glad to finally be able to make what I hope was a wise decision, with your help. Not to mention that any bling lover is my kinda pal. Thanks much

You're most welcome, and good to hear you got what you wanted!

Speaking of chargers, I've had my fill of getting "the best deal" on some that I've bought - particularly from Amazon. At least the last three had to be returned to them. (On two of them, one of the bay springs broke within a week or so!) I'm now at the point that I'd prefer to "overpay" but buy from a trusted seller like Orb so that I'm more assured of getting the real deal. I don't know why, but I sense some of the Amazonian sellers are sending out knock offs.

@Katdarling, I bought the Xtar VC2 PLUS Master USB Battery Charger because I've only heard good things about Xtars (my current one is a Tenergy - has been fine for years) and I want to make sure my soon to arrive new batteries will have a new cradle. Orbtronics charged me $18.95 + shipping but what I missed out on is illumn.com's $9.99 price, grrrrr.

@kas122461 Choice. What a voice, what a killer rendition. Also used as the season ending final song in 'The Blacklist' while a guy is rushed into the ER on a gurney ........... and dies.

It is one of my favorite clips, it has been quite some time sense it has been posted, I figured it was time again. I have never seen The Blacklist before though, I think I first saw the clip here on ECF first, it is a very powerful version.

I'm with you about the Radius.
On my Provari tubes, I like 18490s just because of the length/weight. This may be irrelevant since I think you said you were leaning toward 18650s, but Illumn.com has a great selection generally and has 18500 button tops (which I ordered, and received, and haven't tried yet, but I believe will sub for 18490s.) They also have 18650 button tops from a couple of vendors.
