My friend and I were discussing musicians last week. He's ultra-nostalgic where music is concerned. When I mentioned Prince, he replied, "Well, he's no Hendrix." I replied, "Hendrix couldn't read or write music, but Prince could have conducted an orchestra, and also could have performed in one."

That resulted in an extended conversation. By the end, he got it.
