OK guys. Looking for possible help from Provari Nation. Just received a Provari in the mail that I bought. It’s brand new, never used 2.5.
When I fired it up, I got the dreaded E5 error-over voltage detected.
I’ve tried 3 different tanks, 3 different AW IMR 18490’s from RTD. All these work fine on my other Provaris. Cleaned all contacts thoroughly. Checked bottom cap spring. Everything is as it should be.
Without a tank on and I press fire button, it starts at E5, then goes to E8, converter detected fault.
I can go through the whole prompt menu and everything else works through the whole menu.
It’s just when I hit fire button, E5 and no vape. I already emailed Bill, but I know a response will take a while.
Before I contact the seller, I wanted to know if any of you experienced this error code, on the outside chance there might be something simple to rectify it before I send it back. I know my chances of a self fix are slim to none, but thought I’d try.
The fact that it's doing it with nothing on it is a bad sign. If you look at your others, nothing should show in that situation. I can't say for sure but it sounds like a board gone bad (for reasons I don't know).
Maybe someone else has other experiences though, so let's see who else chimes in.
My initial thought was the same as Classy's, until you said it did it with no tank.
