With the advent of Best buy announcing they will no longer be selling CD's starting in July, I decided to round out by collection by ordering all the Deep Purple I don't have, all the Judas Priest I don't have, all the Krokus I don't have and all the Megadeth I don't have, 25 new CD's in all (not counting preorders). Thought about rounding out my L.A. Guns collection as I just preordered their new live one but, nah, I have enough of their stuff.

What, me worry? I'm still listening to vinyl and cassettes... at home.

Is there a way to use flat top batteries in provaris? Reason I'm asking is because I need to buy some new 18350s and right now RTD has AWs (which I've always used exclusively) for $8.75 but also has Keeppowers for $4.10, and these are on Mooch's recommended list but are flat tops.

Where there is a will, there is a way, but it comes highly warned against. I know of at least one ProVari owner who followed advice given and he used the " button" on the negative side of the battery and fried his beloved ProVari. They will sizzle and fry and be dead forever if you insert a battery with reverse polarity.

RTD used to sell a plastic disc with a brass nub in the center to act as a button, they no longer exist, but one could easily be made up with a circle cutter and a small section of brass rod, the small metal " button" can be secured to a hole in the center of the disc with super glue or epoxy. The discs could me made from any number of materials like plastic, tag board, or even balsa wood, using a circle cutter. Personally, I see no harm if a button was made for each cell and secured to the proper side with some small piece of battery wrapper shrunk onto it to secure it, tape could also do the job.

I have thought this through in the case of what to do if button top 350's ever become difficult or impossible to source.

Please don't put a button on the wrong side of a battery and fry an irreplaceable ProVari! You were warned, it has happened. :)

Oddly, I am getting PIZZA for dinner with my kiddo, after we visit the gem show. I'm trying to give him the "reminiscence" tour of Tucson before he leaves. The kid collected rocks, and I'm pretty sure I may have to buy him something, probably related to his current interests.... Like a stone pipe or something....

I hope Papa John's can handle our order! LOL.

I visited Tucson back in my rock hounding days in the 80's. We went there after the big show in Ca. It was very interesting, and we picked up a bunch of rocks and slabs. I had a big rock saw at the time and could cut my own slabs. I also had a diamond wheel set up to shape and polish cabs. Lot's of fun. :)

Fellow diver!!! Vis looks great, is that your swimming pool, lol ? Kidding aside, is this from a recent dive trip?
We just visited Anthony's Key in Roatan Honduras. Most of the week was rough seas and poor vis, had the best two dives on the last day. That shot was taken at somewhere around 50 feet of so. The first day was pretty good too, I'd like to see those reefs again in better conditions, we hit it at the wrong time of year. So many places, so little time...and money :)

We did AKR in 06 and loved the diving. We did the dolphin dive and a great shark dive there. The only thing we didn't like was our first room. We tried to save a few dollars and booked a non ac , cheaper room and woke up the first night with palmetto bugs literally all over us [emoji51] . I can dive with and love sharks, but one single palmetto bug turns me into a scardy cat. When I tell you there must have been 50 in that room, including on the bed, I'm not lying...anyways the little skiff that takes you off the key was not operating that late, so we couldn't get in contact with the office to change rooms, so we slept on lounge chairs in the middle of the room....anyways we got a great room after that and the rest of the trip was awesome!!!! The shark dive there was the highlight of our trip, we have pics and I shot video....your right, so many great places, so little time....I think my fav in the Caribbean is the Cayman islands, also wall diving and cayman brac was just incredible

I slept on the hammock one night on the deck, till about 1:30...I guess it was the mosquitos that woke me, but I didn't know it at the time. The next day though, I noticed the dozens of pink dots on my legs and arms, I was dinner for untold numbers of skeeters that night. Of all the places we have visited, scuba club Cozumel always feels like home when we enter the gate. If you ever get a chance, it is a tip top resort with excellent staff and great diving.

We did coz twice but not there. One place was an all inclusive and didn't really like that because most were youngsters that were drinking 24/7 and being loud....but great diving for sure, love that drift diving!!!! You tried bonaire?

Both Captain Don's and Buddy Dives, been there four times, definitely high on the want to visit again list. Buddy Dives gives you a truck with your room and last trip we did more shore dives than boat dives, love the relaxed pace of Bonaire diving. Me and my wife honeymooned on Curaçao, nice island to visit and the club habitat is right on top of a nice wall, great for night diving. I don't like night diving in groups and prefer to be just me and a buddy, when the conditions are right, I actually prefer night diving to see all the corals opened up. And of course, the other little things, and not so little, that come out at night to play.
