I no longer have enough bone left (espcieally after the implants I HAVE were done, OMG dental surgeons are like the BRUTISHIST. I know, because I was awake during ALL the surgeries, no opiates for me either. Every time I went in for work, I looked like a battered spouse, for reals. He did not hold back because I was awake, but he did tell me I was the best dental patient EVER because I just lay there, and thought about what would happen if I didn''t do it awake. LOL.

I feel your pain. I really do.

I'm 52, have all my teeth and no fillings. I'll be dead in a year but it will be with a full set of beautiful teeth. I told Jackie, "At my funeral, all I want you to do is point at my body and say, "That man has all his teeth and no fillings!"" :D

Let's hope that is at least five years away...

You know that "Live fast die young leave a beautiful corpse?" I'm no female version of River Phoenix that is for sure. He was kinda douchy and not my cup of tea. Still.

Seen enough open caskets to know it's just not a good plan though, I don't know WHO came up with that but it needs to stop (JMHO as always).

Now I have to think hard about whether my denture should be inserted into my corpse. LOL. Because I have had thoughts about shoving a few vapes in there in case God is an ANTI and well I'd hate to miss out on the delicious food.

And, do you corneal grants get ripped out and returned to their original user as you RISSSEEE up.

Yeah, I better stop thinking about this I think. LOL.

You know, I went to my best friend's Dad's funeral a while back. Dave says to me, "He looks pretty good, don't you think?" I replied, "He's never looked worse, he's dead!"

I wouldn't have said it but it did make me laugh out loud.

The open casket thing is to make sure the person of the first part is, you know, really dead.

Same deal with the wake.

If you sleep through a real, honest to God, Irish wake they figure you must be dead and they can go ahead and put you in the ground.

Interesting...

I've been doing a little bit of research on death, not much to report...

Death, the final frontier...a journey through time and space...
Funny you should mention that. I've been telling people, when I'm standing before God, I'm going to ask, "Lord, before I settle in, may I have a spaceship with unlimited fuel and a kick ... stereo to cruise around in? While I'm at it, may I ask Dennis if he wants to go with me and if he does, make it a 2 seater?"

My mom died with a smile on her face, after at least a week of no facial movement. It was pretty incredible. She knew where she was going and who was there waiting for her! When I start missing her, I think of that moment and I become happy for her!

1984, my mom was with her dad in the hospital when he went. She said he held his arms out for a hug, but wouldn't take one from her, she knew there was somebody else there for him. Fast forward to 2012, after a long fight of precious memories lost to Alzheimers, my grandmother finally joined him. Theirs was a true love story. I had the genuine privilege of putting in order every letter he had written to her (nearly one for every day) when he was in the army and they were separated during WWII. What I remember of my grandfather, he was probably one of the wisest men I have ever known, and my grandmother the most unconditionally loving woman. I miss them both dearly, but it comforts me as I envision them together again, young and carefree, dancing and living it up, because I am certain that is exactly what they're doing.
