This song and Angie by the Stones was all they played on the radio in the summer of 73. Todd Rundgren is/was incredibly multi talented.

I just knew it was a long time ago, but in 73 I was just 12. I had not gotten interested in music yet. For me I must have heard it about 5 or 6 years later. :unsure:

Always liked Todd's quirky songs, kinda easy listening and somehow soothing...
Ever go to a concert with kind of ‘meh’ expectations only to walk out blown away? That was me after seeing Todd Rundgren and Utopia. I knew a lot of his songs but never realized the width and depth of his stuff. Let me say, there was nothing quirky or easy listening or soothing about that concert. He rocked! Big time!! His solo stuff fit your description but the stuff he did with Utopia was made for live play that smoked. Another thing no one knows about Rundgren is how many songs he wrote/produced for other artists. He is a musical brain.
