Wow, I didn't mean to come off as the wicked witch about the ants. I love all creatures and I did try to leave them and avoid the hills. My leg is so infected from the bites that I worry about losing a leg or something.

Guess I will refrain from posting for awhile. Thanks for the info, everyone.

When it comes to insect and rodent infestation it the little patch of the Earth we get, I see nothing wrong with getting rid of the harmful ones. If we had fire ants up here I would gladly offer up a tasty poison they could take home and share.

I hope those bites start settling down!

Beets are the best freaking vegetable ever! Roasted as a delicacy, eaten cold from a can.

Also, the most NECESSARY item in a jar of pickled eggs.

    I swore I would never eat one but the Appalachia husband kept daring me...;

I am so glad I did.

It beats a hundred year old egg by a country mile.

The beet chips are also Da Bomb.

Beets are so good because they are fairly high in sugar so you add butter some salt and BOOM.

Also I love Brussel sprouts now. Cook some in butter and balsamic vinegar with salt and pepper and be happy.

My mom would be so proud.
Try roasting them brussel sprouts with some chopped red bell pepper and chopped onions, about 15 minutes per side 375 deg.
salt, pepper, onion powder, and a little garlic and sprinkle with a small dash of balsamic and oil before roasting. MMMMMMM Hmmm.

Guess what I'm picking up today at the grocery store? Damn you enablers!

You did not come across that way at all, I think you missed an inside joke /jibe that was meant for someone else. Hope you got them fire ants taken care of, they are in invasive species and can be very dangerous to children, pets, and adults as well. Their attacks when they sting a co-ordinated and excruciatingly painful. All the best to you always Rose! :)

You did not come across as a wicked witch at all. You were just fine.

Wow. If there's one thing about this group I have learned, you people do not take sarcasm/humor well...at all. Did you not read my post after that about a guy who douses our house twice a year for insects? Not to mention all my posts about eradicating North America's squirrel population?

Guess I'll be the one who refrains from posting anything other then the daze, "Most Valuable Metal." I can't say anything about killing nuisance rodents and I can't say anything about saving them. I. Just. Can't. Win.

EDIT: @rosesense I would like to add that I am genuinely sorry you took me wrong.

There are some creatures there is no living with. Fire ants would be in that category.

You are fine Gin, and I never minded reading any posts about your rodent problem, which I actually do feel for you in regards to their destructiveness...the graphic pictures of their dead bodies, to me, was a little over the top. Never meant to offend you by any of my comments, if you ever took any of them as an attack, I am sorry, that was never my intention. Perhaps at the time I may have even been out of line.

Thoughts that appear as written text on a computer screen, so often lack the benefit of context gained through vocal inflection and facial expressions that we humans have adapted to interact between us, that many a time, the nuances of what is said, can be misconstrued.

My problem is when people take pleasure in killing animals. There is a purpose to kill animals/creatures in some instances (to eat for sure) but there certainly should be no pleasure in doing so. I have enough testosterone in my body that I don't need to kill an animal to get my rocks off. There are many instances where animals can be relocated and many instances when killing animals only opens more habitat for others to replace them. You can either learn to live with them or find ways to discourage them from coming around. A farmer can sit in a chair 24/7 and shoot every crow that comes around or he can put a scarecrow in his chair instead and go home and get some sleep.

Perfectly stated Bronze. I was raised with those very same teachings.

Found this in a back up box. I wonder if it will work. At least I'll be healthy.[emoji1787]

My wife came home with one of those in the spring of 2010, a $65 kit that lasted about a month.

Hey, you know that ProVape website? ... Anyone contacted them about Firmware upgrades? ... Repairs and spare parts?

Exploring decay and abandoned sites and struck with hope that my ProVari fairs better.

I got that it was sarcasm, I would not worry about it. Sometimes no mater how carefully you word something online, someone will always take it the wrong way. Plus why would anyone feel sorry for the lives of fire ants? :?:

You just keep on posting. Fire ants are worthy of genocide.
