The eraser on a #2 pencil works well for cleaning the post of the 510 connection. Use a new pencil so the eraser end is flat. Just the right size to fit 'in'. Just keep spinning it around until the pin shines again. The put a drop of alcohol in and swap it out with a tissue right away. No need for polish or special abrasive contact cleaner pens. I do this every couple weeks and my pins are 'Golden'.
I've been out of town, so just now catching up.
I use the eraser which I'm including a pic of, and it works great. Peeling off the papery outside, leaves the perfect diameter to fit within the P3 coupling top. You can get them at any art supply or drawing store. I do it with the mod upside down, so any little bits of eraser fall out.

@newyork13 ... I'll second the Magic Rub. I mentioned the Ruby Red (which I don't have on hand or have misplaced) and couldn't remember the name of the other one at the time of my earlier post. Later that day, I dug "the other one" out and cleaned some center posts LOL.

I like the Magic Rub 1960 you use best, for the form factor. Peel-off 1960 is much handier than this Faber Castell Magic Rub 1954 for cleaning ProVari contacts. Both are the same Magic Rub material, just different vendor and form factor. I can also visualize the Magic Rub 1960 reaching the positive contact on the ProVari tube mod circuit boards too. I use this one only because I've had it around a couple of decades and used it ocassionally when I worked on PC's and various circuit boards. Magic Rub doesn't degrade or dry out, harden like pencil (type) erasers either.

Magic rub description: Magic Rub Eraser is a white vinyl non-abrasive eraser for mylar drafting film, delicate drawing or tracing paper.

That be my favorite eraser, got a number of them around. I didn't know about the 1960 version. Yikes ... 1st hit at Amazon was showing $38 for just one. But a bit of looking there, you can also find it for $9 with free shipping.

Mentioned a couple of weeks ago regarding filling the Z Atty. The syringe isn't really working for me. Doesn't travel well either. Finally found EXACTLY what I was looking for at RTD Vapor. Luer Lock (squeeze) Bottle. I'll pick up a couple of extra Luer Lock needles while there too ... Accessories - Bottles - RTD vapor
