Funny story... one time I had the quarterdeck watch from 12.00 hour till 08.00, and it was my duty to play revilie to awaken all of my shipmates...I decided to key the mike at the beginning of the Time song by Pink Floyd with the alarm clocks going off and all...I got a Captains Mast hearing for that stunt....wouldn't change it in a heartbeat though...willing to pay the price for the deed done comes with the territory

I was a .50 cal mount captain (when called away) on Stephen W Groves FFG-29. I wanted to shoot and man the M60 but I'm left handed and my face wouldn't let me do it (shell ejection) ... shootI was just the cook...who knew damn well how to fire a .50 cal
I absolutely loved the sound of that machine gun chunka chunka firing and the ringing of the chain of brass faling onto and rolling around the deck...I still get a warm fuzzy feeling thinking about firing that weapon!
