I hope it works out for you Kas. My wife just found out she has Macular Degeneration, and will be getting shots on a regular basis I guess. I sure hope they work.

You could always ask the doctor about the nicotine. Problem with that is, when it comes to nicotine, they rarely tell the truth. Good thing about vaping, if you decide to cut out the nic, you could always wean yourself down to 0%. Jackie and I started out at 24mg. While we don't plan on going any lower than we are now, I'm down to 12mg, her 6mg. Good luck!
P.S. Keep us posted, a?

My eye specialists are thrilled that I’m vaping rather than smoking. We’ve talked about it at length several times and the surgeon (had to have retinal surgery too) is of the opinion that the nicotine isn’t the problem. There are trials going on right now using stem cell therapy for treatment of occlusion/WMD(wet macular degeneration). Hopefully they’ll come up with something that works sooner rather than later.luckily my Occlusion was in a branch and not the in the main one. The guy was fast it was over before I knew it. I had read about the shots online a couple of days ago. When he said that was what he wanted to do, I just said okay. I hope that I am one of the lucky ones that gets my vision back, but not going to hold my breath. If the letters are large enough I can still read them. But yeah it did scare the He11 out of me, but there really was not a lot of time, from when I said yes, and the time of the shot.

Edit: I smoked cigs for 4 years then smoked cigars for about 14 years, I switched to vaping on 4/19/2014. I am kind of wondering if it is the Nicotine from smoking or all the other stuff in tobacco that would be the primary cause.![]()
Guess the advertisers didn’t get the memo...

If only she had “Dirty Nees”!!!My light-heartened take on nicotine and blood pressure involves the company doctor, the medical assistant who does my spirometrie, and the senior nurse in a team who gave me regular infusions.
A number of years ago I had to have a check-up with the company doctor, I popped in to the smoking room with a coffee and had two stinkies shortly before my appointment. Just as I was finishing there, a collegue came in with another coffee and a problem for me, this meant another two stinkies and a rush to the doctor. When he took my blood pressure, it was through the roof, when I returned to my office a colleague ridiculed me for my two coffees and four smokes immediately before having my BP measured. The following morning my BP was OK.
Fast-forward several years - I'd taken up vaping. I went regularly to a local hospital for infusions always at 8 am and lay on top of a bed for about three hours. There, my BP was taken at the start and end of every session and always perfect or slightly below optimum.
Every six months I went late in the afternoons to have my COPD control. Whilst there, my BP was always a bit on the high side.
I told the 40+ infusion nurse about the difference to which she asked if the spirometrist was attractive and with "yes" as a reply, she assumed, humerously, that that was the reason.
The penny suddenly dropped after coupling memory of the company doctor incident with my obvious nicotine intake difference between the two appointment times. When a doctor popped in for a chat, I asked his opinion on nicotine and blood pressure, he concured with my conclusion and even looked it up in a medical database on a PC in the room for confirmation.
I didn't have the heart to tell the spirometrist what I'd discovered, she would obviously have been deflated to learn that she didn't have the ability to raise a geriatric's blood pressure.
Life's like that sometimes.
You call?If only she had “Dirty Nees”!!!
