If they were to come back, and with a regulated squonker, i'd be in trouble. Better start saving some money, just in case.
It would be tremendous if they did come back (and were run as well as they once were) but I'm not getting my hopes up.
What you see is known as a landing page. It's used by many registrars when a domain has no content but is still attached to a nameserver - thus still currently registered. It serves to keep you from getting that "404 Page Not Found" error.
The domain's record lists GoDaddy for all contacts. Of course, they're a registrar. These sorts of listings commonly appear when the owner is using a security measure that makes it much harder for a bad guy to hijack a domain. It's tough to impersonate a business or person if you don't know who they actually are.
But it can also mean that the domain has been taken back by the registrar if it has not been renewed and the registrar thinks the name may have value.
The domain's expiration date is 11/9/2029. That's not necessarily an indication that someone is actively working on making it go live again. Especially for sites with a lot of value, it isn't uncommon for them to be paid up for decades. That eliminates the possibility of someone forgetting to renew it and it being released for sale.

I am not sure, but I kind of remember reading that when Provape closed they sold everything. I think that included the name, board designs, and possibly even the website. I am not sure though, it has been a long time.

You got me look them up, are they really effective? And how long do they work for? It gets really hot here to the point where I get the shakes sometimes from the heat when I have to do stuff outside.
