Oooh.. I forgot to say it. Bill has my Procyon he sent me an email. I am like mentally considering and discarding what exactly tanks I am gonna put on top.

This also means the ephro 101 tube can go in the mod closet. It's alright. Not terrible, but no Procyon that is for sure. LOL.

Also I almost don't want to write it but no mods have been broken since I put down comforters.

I feel a lot better today. A LOT. I'm still swollen but my like, lymph nodes are no longer so stuffed with dead white cells that they are HARD. That's really no fun.

I will say, after seeing that ONE dying cockroach heading away from me earlier this week, I have not seen a single ONE. I kind of mentally thought at it, "Oh yea, cockroach, I'm not even going to bother KILLING you. Because no matter how evil you look, guess what. We are EQUALS. We are both going to die."

My first therapist (she was kinda kooky at times but in a good way) told me when I bought the crack house that I was not going to have roaches and they were attracted to a "specific kind of frequency." I did not get roaches there (although to be fair, I didn't test out her theory, I had exterminators come once a month for a year.)

But, I think I have figured it out. Cockroaches (IMHO) were gross, but I never really had them until the Tucson house and they were giant palmetto bugs. So I found them terrifying. But, I had gotten a lot older and more fearful by then, so like, you know, I had to Boric acid etc.

However, lately I am not super scared of much. I mean, let's face it, what is a cockroach gonna do, eat me? Turn me into one?

In any case ever since I beamed that message to the roach, they have retreated. I think the frequency that cockroaches like is FEAR.

Don't get me wrong I am still going to boric acid (or make the husband do it) but I'm gonna wait a bit to see if I even NEED to. Because I'm QUITE sure the roach I saw like, took that message back to his nest and lair and etc.

It's good to be heading toward two less problems, frankly. I hope this bleachy tooth pick thing continues to work because if I have to have gum grafting I will just DIE, etc.

Look at a product called Termidor SC or Taurus SC (same stuff). Sold on Amazon these days. It's a concentrate you dilute to 0.8 oz per gallon. Spray around the bottom foot or two of your foundation every 4 - 6 months with a basic garden sprayer. It's what the pros use and is very effective. Keeps ants, roaches, spiders, and other unwanted creatures away. Made for termites but works on lots of creatures. Best when you trench up a 6" x 6" trough along the foundation then pour solution in then cover. Lasts ten years but if you're lazy then spraying works OK too. Many You Tube videos on it.

    HA !!! :D ... cross breeding
@ENAUD I KNOW you like traditionals. If you guessed a vicious sharp Oak handled Opinel, you'd be correct. Only I don't think it would be a guess ;)
Ha Ha, No Guessing required my fiend ;) I have a few Opies, most of them I have carved and shaped the handles into more comfortable and pleasing shapes. They are the best bang for the buck in the knife world IMHO. Nice to see you have an appreciation of them :)

Thanks for that info Bronze, I am going to aquire said product and treat my house, don't know when the last treatment was done, and the termite co charges @ 600$ for a treatment, and then requires regular paid inspections for the insurance, though they will cover up to 25 thousand for repairs in case of termite damage, gotta run it past the wife, she wants me to get the house under contract...

Probably works on fire ants next to your house or from entering your house but if you have them in your yard and want to get rid of them you will need a different approach.

I have a text into my pest control buddy and will add what he says.

For fire ants I get the stuff from Home Depot or Lowes, it's a granular product you sprinkle over the mound and around the perimeter, then I make a big pot of boiling water and pour it with a sprinkler can liberally on top, best done in the evening...kills em deader than then a squashed possum on the highway...

$600 is on the cheap end too. Termidor SC (Taurus SC is exact same stuff but less expensive) is what all these professional bug joints use for termite protection. They use the trench method. It lasts a good 10 years or more (that's why you trench it). Makes a big difference. My house is 22 years old and had that treatment when it was built. About 8 - 10 years ago I started seeing sugar ants and Wood's roaches coming in the house. I used the usual stuff (Terro, etc.) and it sorta worked but it was a constant fight. About a year and a half ago I got fed up and did the trench method and supplement it every six months with the garden sprayer method. Trenching really wasn't that hard. I just used a pick axe and did the width of the blade going 6" down. 2,600 SF house took me 15 labor hours to trench, pour the solution, and cover it back up. I don't see any ants anymore and only an occasional Wood's roach...usually a baby. And of course it keeps the termites away. Another thing I do is spray the under the eaves in June. Keeps the spiders in check. As you know living here, the spiders are nasty. Especially come August. They make a mess with their webs. Many houses have holes drilled in the cinder blocks at the foundation inside your crawl. Spray that crap in the holes too. Again, lasts a long time and is highly effective.

Go on You Tube. There are dozens of videos on this product. These products required a license to purchase for many years but now we can buy it on Amazon.

Theoretically the contract/insurance is nice but I find in reality they're kind of a joke. Guarantees are only as good as the company giving them. Come time you need to cash in on a guarantee and it usually becomes a battle. Many times you have to chase them down to do an inspection. I always trusted myself more than subcontractors and that's why I do it myself. It's not much work. But if the wife is gonna pitch a beech then you're in a no-win situation.

The stuff we men have to endure.

Big thumbs up for Boric Acid, I took all of the the electric outlets and switches out of one place I lived. I put Boric Acid behind the walls and ins cupboards etc, worked like a charm.

Not to discourage you but I had a contract with Terminex for years in WA state for an ant problem. I constantly had to call them to come out and treat and still had to deal with throwing food out they got into before pest control came out. I finally asked when the problem would be under control so I could stop the contract and was told, never. Once you have them, you will always have them and have to keep treating. I figured if I had to keep messing with it and paying them $100 every 3 months, I might as well spray myself. End of contract for me. I hope you have better luck.

@Bronze , thanks so much for the info. Off to search out that product.

That was back in the late '60's and I don't remember for sure if it killed or repelled roaches, which ever it worked - no smell either.

Boric acid is very effective on ants n roaches but the key with pest control is to control them outside the house, not inside.

I am going to look into that if/when I need it, like after the Great Recovery (I really think this bleach thing is working.) Boric Acid is great but despite like, following precautions as told, I did a lot of twitching afterward. I bathed (which is what they say to do) but it was unpleasant. I must be part insect.

I own some knives. I think my favorites were the Ginsu steak knives my mom gifted me at some point.... They were like the "extra gift" for the actual Ginsu knives which are no more.

They have to be 30 years old I think and I have other, much nicer professional cooking knives to chop stuff up with.

But, I accidentally MICROWAVED one last night. The knife still appears to be FINE (I was making my dinner and placing the requisite "slit" in the um, film of my turkey pot pie and like, somehow the Ginsu knife was carefully placed on top of the pot pie.

I have no clue if it arc-ed. Maybe? I guess I should get the husband to take a look at the microwave or whatever.

I'm okay with it though because this microwave I HAVE is only 1000 watt and it's supposed to be some other higher WATT that everyone now recommends cooking food with and also the one I really want is red.

I would also enjoy finding the dang BASKET to my coffee maker because I LIKE that thing. This requires looking though...

I think the best method there is to walk your four acres and hit their nests with the Taurus SC. Or better yet if you're out mowing on a tractor then keep the sprayer with you and just nail them as you see them. Taurus SC is a delayed killer. It has no odor. Insects walk in it unsuspecting and bring it back to their colony and share the poison with their friends thus wiping out the colony.
