Anyone find a decent answer as to how many chemicals in a cigarette? I just read that their are 367, but I find numbers in the lower thousands tossed about. Seems that so much on the internet has an agenda.

I would believe a commercial cigarette maker, but I won't.

What you have to remember about Leonard Cohen is that he was first a poet and then a songwriter/musician. So many poets have a sad and depressing outlook on it all. Not that they're wrong, but they do dwell on it. Hallelujah is brilliant, but so heart wrenching that I can hardly stand it.

Unequivocally? Probably not. Most (admittedly biased) sources usually quote between 3,000 and 8,000, which is a fairly significant spread.

I'm comfortable simply saying, a ":censored:load."

I'm having flashbacks of another thread, @AstroTurf .

Days long gone by (and tremendously missed), the fabulous Mr. Ikenvape (Isaac) used to love dropping Epic Rap Battles of History vids into his thread. Some of them are pants-wetting hilarious, actually.

Anyway - your Mashup Mondays brought those memories roaring back to life for me. So, thank you. :)

I am sorry you are not feeling well
Do you need to get out and paint the town red ?

Soon as the red paint smooths out its lumps..... I'm ON it! (Thank you, classy one)

I rote a pome to cheer you up:

A jug of wine beneath the bough,
Or milk from yon contented cough;
Were you beside me I would glow,
Deliciously, from head to tow

Brilliance, alla Deemac. MUCH appreciated, pomer extraordinaire.

Having been brought up on the works of William Topaz McGonagall*, I have a heads tart**.

*"William Topaz McGonagall, poet and tragedian of Dundee, has been widely hailed as the writer of the worst poetry in the English language."

You all were busy while I was away. Ever do a 500 mile road trip with a sick dog while phone/gps goes out? That was stressful.

As for the number one song at 14 being prophetic, yeah...mine was Help by the Beatles. Fitting...

I am unfamiliar Mr Cohen, probably all that "genius" stuff, we never got along.

One of my absolute favorites. The early stuff is not my cup of tea but I like all the later ones. Gotta admire someone who gets ripped off by their manager and goes out touring again in their seventies.

    Think: Really Jewish

    Think: Really Jewish and singing.

Think: Might have benefited from a nose job

Think: His tunes are lovely, but almost unbearable also if you listen to too many in a row you kind of want to kill yourself.

I think he may have actually, but don't quote me on it.

    Anna

Nope, died from cancer at about 83.
