One of those youtube vids they wouldn’t let you open.

Copy that. I hate it when they do that, but I get it.

Here's one from the annals. No video - just the album cover. Exactly as it first hit my ears, with nothing in front of me but this cover and my imagination.

I was blown away by it, so many years and decades ago.

That was my senior year in HS. Wore out this album. Truthfully, I liked the three previous ones even more. Self titled, Masque, and Song for America.

My buddy got to know the bass player (a founding member) David Hope. Hope had quit the band and became an assistant pastor at a chuch my bud’s family went to. So he got to talk to him at length about those early days. Hope would play at reunion gigs now and again. Was always too much for him. Had a drug problem and the band was always a bad influence.

Isn't he also one of the guys who split with Steve Walsh to try forming a Christian rock band? I think so. There were three or four of them at the time (if I'm remembering correctly).

Yes. I believe Hope and Livgren formed a christian band that lasted a few years. I saw KS three times. Twice in Chicago. Once before anyone ever heard of them. Last time was in our outdoor theatre in Raleigh some 20ish years ago. They backed up Yes. Robby Steinhardt was with them. Steve Walsh looked like 100 years old. Rich Williams the guitar player was fat, out of shape, wearing an eye patch. Robbie is dead now.

This is SO wrong, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I laughed when I first saw it.

In case anyone was wondering why he was called the Professor. The middle section (just after the drums turned) smokes me every time.

Phenomenal, and thank you!

One rule of certainty, right up there with Death & Taxes, is that when Neil's drum set spins, something memorable was almost sure to follow.

The Big Band/Buddy Rich endings NEVER get old. :headbang: :thumb:

I could sulk that he quit playing too soon or just shut my face and be thankful I got what I did. I choose the latter.

Considering how it ended, yes - we're the lucky ones who got to see & feel it live.

The legend lives on. :)
