I was reading the Legislation, Media/News, and CASAA forums, and some thoughts came to mind. What about a PSA of sorts? It could at least be on YouTube, maybe it could go viral. Then perhaps on TV at some point? I had some thoughts on this and threw something together real quick:

Would something like this work? Probably would have to be edited, I just kind of tossed in some thoughts and some royalty-free sound. But I think something like this, basic & serious, might get some attention from some by aiming it not just at smokers, but also non-smokers who know & care about smokers.

A good PSA is a dream of mine. The cost and logistics and tine involved of doing what I have in mind have been prohibitive to this point. I think I may start fleshing something out now, though. I actually want a few for both THR and e-cigarettes specifically.

Let me know what I can do to help. :)

I like it. It just needs a few more hundred thousand viewers, that's all.

You might try something a little longer - Scroll in red, the quote from some doctor about "using known convential methods that are proven to help smokers quit ..." and then scroll in blue from the right Chantrix black box warning, followed by lawsuit figures, followed by success rate of less than 20% stopped for a month. Then from the other side that success rate for e-cig is 70-80% a year later.

Then scroll the list of chemicals in cigarettes (fading eventually because it's too long) and then scroll the 4 or so ingrediants in e-juice.

and so on. Maybe that RJR has 50% of the market and they are backing expanding the legislation. Then scroll that cigarette sales are down >10% this last year (that might grab even non-smokers attention).

Just an idea. One of the battles is that some people freak out at the idea, sight or mention of any smoking or nicotine useage. What they don't understand is that not everyone can "just quit", even if they did.

Another note might be to encourage others to talk about all they have tried to quit and what it means to them to now be able to vape instead - personal experiences. I know some people have even posted xrays of their lungs showing the difference.

But it makes me mad when doctors push a drug that could give me a heart attack rather than have me die of lung cancer and rationalize it's good for me.
