Public Demonstration! Picket Signs!

I just thought about asking how everyone would be with coordinating a nationwide public demonstration on one specific day, protesting the ban and blocking of shipments and such. Maybe a few signs trashing ASH i dunno...

This I think could boost nationwide awareness, and maybe get a little news coverage here and there reflecting vapers right to not get these things banned...

Let's hear some ideas and get it planned, I also posted this on the other forum... I would be willing to grab a dot com and host a page to circulate informing people of the date of demonstration and such...

Honestly Druid, i've thought about this on and off for a while. It's a great idea, as it worked so well with the protests of the '60's and '70's. The reason it worked so well back then, though, was because the media covered everything.

When was the last time you saw a protest on the news? They don't cover those much anymore. Even if we literally had a million men, it would mean nothing if the cameras weren't there to capture it. And that's what we need the most right now- media attention.

I'm sorry :( i'll be in this 110% if it goes on, despite my misgivings. I'm willing to do anything i can. But i just don't think it would work

well i see things of such on the news very frequently... maybe a gathering on the front steps of the fda building one day.... a couple thousand vapers at once saying what they wanted to say... I bet that would get on the news and attract attention... we could all sit outside vaping away for a day. I would do it.

I for one, love this idea...:thumb:
Maybe when the "ECO" gets formalized and organized we can plan something like this.

I think it is a great idea in general, but not sure there are enough of us.

For instance, I live in San Diego, and I know there are at least five or six other people that live in San Diego here. I have never seen anyone using one of these before though, although my wife did run into a guy at the dog park.

It just doesn't seem like we would be able to put together enough people in any location to make anyone think we were anything other than nuts.

Now if we wanted to all gather in one place, I would take vacation time to do it.
But how many others would or could afford to do so?

I think if we set a date now, and plan on the steps of the FDA headquarters...(White Oak, MD???) I think anyone passionate enough about wanting to keep their vaping rights would go... Yes it would cost people a few days and some travel, maybe a hotel night.. but all the money saved from smoking could prob help with that...

If we plan it far enough ahead (but not too far), and get the suppliers and forums to banner it... social network it... email it.... youtube it....

It could work.... even just a couple hundred will warrant a news segment on the cable networks and get an interview or 2.... get the message out

Every1 is saying, now is the time.... there is no one lobbying FOR these except ECA... but what is ECA really doing other than taking donations and posting a few videos?

Come on folks.... let's put it together

My personal opinion, for whatever it's worth...

It is too late now to make any difference in the pending lawsuit that will decide our fates.
But if the decision comes down that we are screwed, then it will be time to do something.

No point in organizing something big if we come out of the lawsuit unscathed.

I think its a great idea, although I don't know if I could attend do to work schedule. No vacation time. Maybe t shirts could be made up in support of this and on the day for those that can't attend they could wear buttone, pins and such? I will be there if at all possible. And may be everyone can send emails on that day.

I disagree. The current lawsuit is only in how these are classified and/or if the FDA has the right to stop the shipments. (I think, anyway. Please correct me if I am wrong.) The outcome of the current lawsuit does not end the battle. Even if it's in the favor of us. Decisions CAN be swayed. If they couldn't ASH and others would not be so diligent in the PR they are doing now. I don't even know if this can be done in time before a decision, maybe a gathering in front of Judge Leon's offices?

Exactly, and beyond that, this isn't just about the SE/Njoy case. It's also about our rights as vapers. Considers this.. even if the Se case is actually won by SE/Njoy, that doesn't stop lawmakers from banning use in public places. We, as users, need to stand up and let everyone know we aren't going to roll over and take it. Otherwise, count on vaping right next to smokers outside, because that will be what happens if we don't make a stand.

Count me in on this.
Maybe this should be a poll to see how many could make it? Say January 1st?

January 1st would not necessarily be the best day. A lot of people schedule that holiday to spend time with their family or friends, or recover from the night before :p
