Kevin and I started vaping last June, not because we wanted to stop smoking but because we were threatened with eviction from our apartment! We paid a 13 month lease in advance, management knew we were smokers and this is NOT a smoke free property. Less than a month after we moved in we started getting nastygrams on our door from the office telling us that our neighboring apartments were complaining about smelling our cig smoke and if they kept getting complaints, they would be forced to evict us. They sure didn't have any problems taking our $17,000 check knowing we were smokers!
When my first starter kit arrived I took it to the office and demonstrated it and our harassment stopped. And none of our neighbors that I talked to ever admitted to complaining to management.

Interesting. A rare time when complaining neighbors saved lives and harassment turned out to be a good thing. Win win.

Can I second my own statement. Them people are stuck on stupid. No matter what you say their minds are made up. They think well I don't think people should do this, I don't. Look at me. and that's where their pea brains stay. I think it's an insecurity issue they have. They probably were not very popular growing up so now that they have some power they're going to make sure everybody notices them.
Well I guess if I have to got to that meeting I had better get my hair cut. Otherwise they probably will think I'm a vagrant and deny me entrance into this shindig. They might anyway. Hey I could go as part of the evidence of what smoking does to you and if you don't quit and start vaping you too could end up looking like this. That would stop this Ban for sure.
Haha. If you have the chance during your speech, please point out that Dr. Chen has twice incorrectly described e-cigarettes as delivering "nicotine and other carcinogens," thus directly implying that nicotine is a carcinogen, which is is NOT.

I love the antifreeze analogy too. The reason they started using that in antifreeze was so it would be safe for pets. Too many people had their cats dying from licking it up. Cats love the taste of antifreeze. It was a good thing not bad like they're trying to make it sound.
Probably best not to bring up the antifreeze part except for mentioning that the amount detected in ONE of 18 or 19 cartridges was at a trace amount, and the FDA has never claimed that the amount found was capable of causing harm to the user or bystanders -- same with the tobacco-specific nitrosamines (aka carcinogens).
Wow, so because somebody thought it looked like smoking where smoking wasn't allowed, they're going to ban it. Does this mean banned anywhere smoking isn't allowed or banned completely from the county? Smoking in bars and in some restaurants is still allowed where I live. Would be crazy if they tried to completely outlaw it.
I guess they think of us as second class citizens. Why else would they take a non smoker and make them go into the smoking area to vape and breathe all those toxic fumes from second hand smoke? We just have to follow the same rules a smoker does.
I'm still wondering why BBQed hamburgers and other meats are not being banned too because they have been found to have cancer causing carcinogens in them and so has KFCs grilled chicken. http://www.pcrm.org/news/release090521.html .
