I take Public Speaking in college, and today I had to give my final speech to the class. What did I choose as my persuasive topic? "Stop the Banning Of E-cigarettes".

I got an 85%! Only due to the fact that I didn't know that out of the entire class, no one smoked. Even though the point wasn't to target smokers, but more to educate everyone.

Get this, out of a 9 person class, I got 5 people to sign the petition that I printed off on ecigssavelives.info !!!!

That is 5 non smokers who completely agreed with my speech and thought it was an awesome idea.

Now I need to mail these out and hopefully support the cause!

Well it's funny. Last night I got kicked out of a bar because I was smoking. EVEN after I explained what my PV was and that it isn't against the law, they still refused to let me stay, a their final judgement call was "Well it looks like you're smoking so you can't be here".

Before getting kicked out a guy standing beside me said in a rude manner "Yo, you know that's weird...." and I replied "Yo, you know I like living ...." , where he replied "You're still weird".

What a nutty country this is.

lets get the non smokers on the band wagon as well the more support the better

Well, when you think about it, non-smokers are more likely to support e-cigs than smokers, since they're the ones who have to put up with the collateral effects of second-hand smoke. If you're a smoker, you usually don't realise that you stink like an ashtray, but non-smokers do.

The 2 groups of people who will most enthusistically support e-cigs are vapers and non-smokers. Most regular smokers won't really care, not unless they decide to stop themselves.

I have showed these things to a lot of non-smokers and ex-smokers. A few people turn there noses up but if I do a good job of explaining them most people think it's pretty cool. We smoked them in a bar in Denver on a business trip and after a while the bartender asked us to stop because he didn't want to get in trouble with security. After I explained the whole thing to him he was cool with it and let us continue. No one in the bar complained because there is no second hand smoke to speak of, to me it's basically like spraying some air freshner in the room :2cool:

Forgot to say that maybe for your speech you could of talked up the benefits a little more for the non-smokers, encouraging them to help their friends or family to vape instead of smoke in order to improve the health of people they may know as well as helping to cut down on the irritation of second hand smoke in places where smoking is permitted.
