Punched cartos without a tank?

Just got my first tank from IBTanked. Ordered about 10 2 hole punched cartos. I like to change flavors and this carto tastes much better than my clearos. Can I use these like normal cartos or will I need to put a piece of tape over the holes to make it work right?

i nerver had a problem with one hole carts with tank off. i think the hole is too small to leak due to surface tension.

Save your self some money get a punch and do it your self. then you can have both.

An easy way to cover the hole is to cut off one of the ends of of the carto "condom" and slip it over the holes.

The ones I bought had no condom.. They came in celaphane packages. I taped one to use, but it sure doesnt seem to last long. Looks like I need to order 3 or 4 more tanks

They work fine with holes in them, it's just a lighter draw.

@Judge Dredd I haven't seen any factory made "punched" cartos. So I expect that the supplier is simply punching them and rewrapping them as a service to the customer. It probably didn't dawn on them to include the "condoms" because those silly things pile up so fast and most of us just trash them or toss them in a junk drawer.

What kind of tape are you using? Electrical tape should work good if you don't want to use a tank. Although I don't think I would won't any tape coming in contact with my juice. At the very least it could effect the flavor and when the carto gets hot the glue could melt and get in your juice. YUK! Sliding a condom over the holes is the best solution.

The smoktech cartomizers I get are pre-punched, bottom plated, and no condoms.

He didn't say, but OP may have gotten his "punched cartos" from IBTANKED. They sell "laser drilled pre-punched" cartos according to the description onsite, so yes they could be factory made punched cartos, if you catch what I'm saying. I don't know how they package their cartos, it could be without the rubber condoms on the ends.

The laser-drilled tank replacement cartos that I get from Smoktek came in a zip-lock plastic bag with no condoms, just loose in the bag.

Boge makes them punched now. I thought Smoktech did too.

I get the laser-drilled ones too - no condoms. I have also used them with electrical tape when I want to put something else in the tanks. They look a little weird, but work.

Yea, there were SMOK from IBTanked. Ill probably just not use them without a tank.. they dont last long enough.. I'm on the road so I wanna just keep pushing the fire button and getting vapor.

I thought most suppliers or companies had the option for cartos made for tanks and not originaly designed for tanks(not pre drilled, punched, etc.).......

Not that I would recommend this, but I ripped the foly-fil out of one of my "tank" cartos and use it to drip new flavors. Yeah I'm weird like that

I had this very same question a few weeks ago.

To answer your question, yes, absolutely you can. I used electrical tape. I vape at 3.8 volts on 2.0 (~2.2) ohm smoktech laser-punched carto, and I just used a bit of electrical tape around the base. Worked perfectly. Just gotta keep 'em primed like a normal carto. Trust me, this trick saved me in a pinch. Plus it's easy to remove and clean if you want to use them in a tank again.

EDIT: The only thing I couldn't use was my ego threaded cone. Won't work with the flanges on the cartos.
