Of course, whatever works, is whatever works (and that varies for everybody)...but oopsy, that's not 'remember correctly' :(

We mix English Blend at 3% total flavoring and find it plenty strong (as did a couple of others). But on your calculator Passunca's English Blend | dot1ml you posted (as above) 5% total flavoring and attributed it to us. So we've nset the original below (from post #1825 in this thread) so you can (pretty please) edit what was erroneously attributed to us. Of course, if you like it at 5% and want to make it 'yours' at that percentage, that's cool (you don't have to mention us at all). We just don't want an inbox full of "OMGs, that's WAY too strong!" type PMs :D

Tobacco - "English Blend" - oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, fan-vaping-tastic!

We got this idea from "Anthony" (a reviewer on ECX that seems to really know his tobaccos).

We haven't yet had a chance to mix up all the single tobaccos & test them, but we know we like Virginia with Latakia (and Desert Ship is FA's "Turkish") - so we thought this was a 'good bet'. And fwiw, we don't get "licoricey smoky" from Latakia - although we do get 'smoky'.

Virginia 60%
Latakia 20%
Desert Ship 20%

Again, we made a 3ml bottle of flavor concentrate and used it at 3%...and after 4 hours @ 150F we were thrilled with it. And after a few days there's no noticeable 'flavor change', it's just a bit softer and less 'robust'...VERY SMOOTH.

3% total flavor =

Virginia 1.8%
Latakia .6%
Desert Ship .6%

This one also has GREAT potential for playing with and customizing. If you like tobacco vapes -- DO IT!

By the way, we're really appreciating your compilation. It makes it SO easy to transfer recipes to our files. Thanks HUGE for sharing!

I've got it wrong and mixed at 5% total, now I've diluted to 3% and, hats off to you, it's better.
Maybe, just a little maybe on the weak side for my taste.
I'll meet you in the middle (4%) next time.

But no matter what, it's a very nice vape. Thanks again :)

Caramel Eggnog, Rum Caramel Eggnog, Cuba Libre (with Tahity Lime Cold Pressed), and Tame Rum really cool!
Next in line, Caribbean Cooler and Banana Nut Muffins. :)

I really would like your help/opinion although I know you're not a tobacco fan.
When I started DIY'ing I had one goal: to create a RY4 without using RY4 in the mix.
What do you think? Can it be done using FA only?

Could you use or start with FA's RY4? Or is this something you've challenged yourself to do?
Caramel, vanilla, cream, mild tobacco if any, maybe some nuts, an optional shot of bakery flavor - I can't think of what else I taste in a typical RY4. I don't really think of it as very tobacco-y. See, my lack of tobacco knowledge is showing. Maybe someone else who knows what they're talking about can chime in.

Blackcurrant and Pom go great together. Blackcurrant is really strong to me, and I'd flip the percents on it versus Pomegranate. Maybe 1.5% Blackcurrant 2-3% Pom, if you want both flavors to come through. Lemon Sicily should sweeten and make them bright, and Meringue will sweeten more. I'm imagining those European jelly candies with blackcurrant/pom flavor. mm!

Which FA flavors do you enjoy absolutely standalone?

Ditto to the rest of you guys, plus
Custard
Green Tea
Hypnotic Mist
Bilberry
Cinnamon Ceylon
Kiwi
Tiramisu
Still in the process of testing the rest of them.

Truth be told, I have found very few that I don't like solo, and I don't think those were designed to be used solo anyway.
FA can't get a higher praise than that.

Which FA flavors do you enjoy absolutely standalone? Anyone new to DIY or FA might find it helpful to hear.

Here are mine:
Irish Cream at 3%
Lemon Sicily at 4%
Vienna Cream at 2%
Anise, anywhere from 1-5%
Cola at 3-4%
Peppermint at 3%

My SA's:

Tutti fruitti 2-4% (I swear it changes)
Fuji 3-5%
Cappuccino 3%
Pear 4%
Mandarin 6% (nomnomnom)
Mango 5%
Passion fruit 3%
Pineapple 4%
Croissant 4% (oddly good)

Granted, my edv's are tobaccos, not shown here, because they're so much better with additions. However, if I had to choose one flavor alone forever, it would have to be a tobacco.

Could you use or start with FA's RY4?

That's my challenge, not to use RY4 flavor. I have both RY4 and 555 challenges going on, hehe.

I'm vaping we2rcool's English Blend (now with corrected %) and, I think it has some very good potential as tobacco base for an RY4.
I can't clearly taste any of those flavors, but I can taste them all. I think they blend perfectly, and that didn't happened at 5% as I mistakenly mixed at first.
This has to be a good sign for a Classic RY4.

On a side note, I think Hoosier mentioned that FA tobaccos were difficult because they changed a lot across the different percentages.
Like it could be good at 1%, bad at 2% and good again at 3% (numbers used as an example only). One of the reasons people tend to think FA is difficult to work with.
This English Blend mix, confirms it, imho.

I really, really wish they'd re-formulate Croissant. That could be so good with so many things!
