I have found my (tobacco) thrill! The one flavor that beats all the rest (tried all but a couple FA and many of other brands, too). Standalone, it beats all the combinations I've tried, too. It's actual tobacco flavor that I could vape for days without getting sick of it. And it controls my cig cravings completely, without the nasty taste of the real thing.
FA Cuban Supreme, 2-3%. Ignore all the odd, conflicting reviews you see on this one. It's NOT a Cuban cigar flavor. I think people posted reviews/descriptions of some other 'Cuban' flavor, or FA Cigar Passion, on some of the pages I've seen. Anyone remotely interested in a tobacco flavor, set aside any preconceived notions of what the name might mean, and I'll describe this as best I can.
It's a mild, true tobacco flavor. It's not in-your-face tobacco, not even as tobacco-y as Virginia or Burley, but it's more obviously a tobacco than the MaxxBlend or 7 Leaves. It's dry, mild, woody, smooth tobacco. No caramel, no anise, no honey, no strong spice, no nuts, no "black" flavor, no weird sweet notes, absolutely never bitter or sour. It's on the sweet side of neutral, but not strongly sweet, even with my max-VG Vapers Tek nic base. It is mildly sweet on the tongue during a big inhale if you're using 2% or higher. The predominant flavor is that elusive "light brown, neutral tobacco" I've been searching for. It's not ashy or dirty tasting, but the wood notes keep it dry. The exhale is that fine, mild tobacco, well-mingled with woody vanilla. Totally smooooth and mild - just superb from the inhale to the last, lingering bit of exhale.
I could barely taste it at 1%; I like it at 2%; somewhere between 2-3% is just perfect for me. It does not change flavor to me as I change the percent - just changes strength. I think that makes it easy to use! Changing voltage changed the balance of dry-tobacco versus woody-vanilla, but not hugely. No combination of different percent and/or voltage brought out any disagreeable or surprising flavors.
I have (a few too many) other tobacco flavorings already on their way. I wish I hadn't ordered them. I had only a couple FA left to try, assumed Cuban Supreme would be a cigar and I'd hate it. I'm so glad I finally tried this. I'm on my third tank in a row, mmmmm!
This would mix well with every other flavor that I've liked - but I have no need to mix it with anything at all. Virginia would make it moister; Burley would make it stronger tobacco; it would be fine with added spice; a nutty 555-ish would go great; adding caramel and extra vanilla with some Virginia would please RY4 fans -- etc. I wouldn't personally like it with anything anise-flavored, but I could imagine it with Cowboy or MaxxBlend for the honey flavor, maybe even with a hint of clove and/or cinnamon spice. I do plan to do my coconut-cardamom experiments with it - that is gonna sing!
I asked several non-vapers about the vapor scent. Under 2%, a direct vapor cloud to the face (their request, not my idea!) was apparently hard to identify but smelled 'sweet'. When I used 2-2.5% flavoring, the majority smelled vanilla. Odd-person-out smelled coffee cake. Nobody found it objectionable, and none believed it was tobacco.
If you've hesitated to try a tobacco vape, this would be the one to start with. I can't imagine anyone finding it offensive when mixed between 2-3%. I'll eventually try the tobaccos on their way to me, but not any time soon. In fact, I'd even vape Cuban Supreme if I weren't in a tobacco-craving mood - that's how much I like it.
