Russ, et al... Please don't take what I said the wrong way. I am anything but pro ProVari these days, in fact just the opposite. Mine have not been used for months, I don't see them ever being used again by me and I severed a long personal friendship with a Team ProVape member. I just don't think it is a fair comparison with the water "oops" between a mech and a VV/VW mod.

My man, were cool. I rarely take anything the wrong way (or seriously) and I appreciate your feedback :). I'm glad you joined us up in here and your collection of mods is impressive.

hey Russ since we are on the topic of durability water etc - ok so say my REO gets wet, battery in, while hiking (of course i will always take every precaution to avoid this but you know how things happen). what happens? Obviously the REO is good with water - but battery in it, it gets wet - obviously don't fire it until it's dry, but, is the battery toast?

That's a good question. I have yet to incur an instance of wet battery. My first inclination would be that it would be good once you wipe it off since it's sealed, Assuming it worked, I'd put it thru a charge and measure it when I got home but I would defer the official answer to the many on here much more knowledgable than I :)

My bigger concern would be rewicking the atty and rejuicing the bottle in the field.

Note to self: anytime going in the woods fording streams / trekking thru mud - bring along a backup REO :).

The battery would be no problem, just wipe it down real good and its ready to use. As to the wicking, I have some emergency wicking in a small zip lock bag, (like the little ones you get with a drip tip or atty), that I can readily dry burn the atty, throw in a new wick, and Bob's your uncle....

I've rewicked in the field before - i carry pre-cut KGD wicks in a small ziplock. do you mean your concern is w/r/t hands being dirty etc?

Not really. I just am rarely in a situation where an accident could occur causing me to field dress an RBA. If I go anywhere further than 30 minutes from home, I have a backup setup stashed in the car along with a couple of batteries. When I get back in the woods this fall I'll take a backup Setup with me :)

In the year and a half that I've been RBing A's I've never had any issues. Never even burnt a wick :)

HHMMMMM....I feel bad for your Stealth. He's so handsome yet sounds like he's lonely. I best take him to join my small family ;)

From the first day I received my first REO they are all I have used. My wife has two Provaris she carries daily and probably one of the most fierce torture testers to date. With the exception of multiple kayfun tanks and battle scares they still work flawless. My Reos have taken a beating too, multiple drops to the concrete/pavement and never missed a lick. I see both accommodating users with different needs and two fine crafted American products. But hey who doesn't like a good heads up torture test? Life isn't fair, run what you brung!

As have I. More than a few times. I always keep a waterproof battery case with a battery, spare coil , mini screwdriver, replacement squonkbottle of juice, and a biggish pinch of rayon in my bag. With that plus my leatherman I might as well be carrying a spare mod.

And yes, the screwdriver and coil are well isolated from the battery.

I never went in for the robodong look myself, so I don't have a mod to offer, but if you end up buying a used one for the test I'll throw $10 into the pot.

I actually have a real generous donor of one called a V2 :). But sadly and prolly for the best, I had to regretfully, with utmost hesitation and sadness and regret and sadness and bitterness and mourning, refuse.

this is why I need a 3rd REO...so i always have a backup at home and a backup on my person :vapor:
