I've been using an e-cig for about a week now. I started with a 7-11 kit and it was ok but I was still craving analogs. I got my 510's yesterday with some juice. Right now I am using 16 MG juice. I went from a pack and a half a day down to 1 analog per day...maybe 2. I want to quit all together and I think I'm on the path but I still crave pretty hard no matter how much I vape.

Could this be the 16 MG juice I am using? Should I up it to 24 or even 36 MG or is that too high?

I thought that a 30 per day smoker should be using something like 12 MG because I smoked Newport Lights.

What do you guys think?

There doesn't seem to be any hard-and-fast rules about a nic level in your juice that will correspond exactly to what you were getting from your particular former brand of analogs--at least none that stand in all cases. If you still crave, boost your juice--don't be shy about it. Get yourself stabilized, then taper off as comfort permits.

strange thing is that there seems to be no correlation between what/how much we smoked and what mg juice we need to stop smoking. I know it sounds strange, but it's true.

If 16mg isn't doing it for you you should try 24mg next. Another thing to keep in mind is the e-cig you are using. The xhale 02 is an ok STARTER kit, it's good enough to get a person to realize the potential for vaping to really replace smoking, but most people won't be truly satisfied until they get a more powerful e-cig - like an eGo.

Most people start with a cigarette-looking e-cig and then upgrade to a more powerful one shortly after that. It's fun to read their reactions when they get their "big guns" and try them for the first time. It's really a EUREKA! moment.

Good Luck to you!

Everyone of us use different levels to cure the crave, no matter of what we use to smoke. I'm using 24, tried 12 and 18, but 24 seems to do it for me. And it will take different lenghts of time before you leave the analogs behind, some never do, some can do it after one vape. It took me about 3 weeks before completly quiting. So go at your own pase and enjoy.

How much/what kind of cig you smoked doesn't always correlate perfectly with the nic level you need.

I was a 30-a-day sometimes filterless smoker. I got off cigs with 18mg.
I know a 3-pack-a-day smoker who also used 18mg.
I know a 10-a-day smoker who needs 24mg.
I know a 2-pack-a-day smoker who can't go over 12mg.

Seems illogical, right?

But there's more than just nicotine in cigarettes, as far as addictive chemicals. And some people are more addicted to those other ingredients than others. And that can have a big impact on how easy your transition to vaping is.

Try hopping up to 24mg, or failing that, 36mg. The extra dose of nicotine may help. If it doesn't, you may want to consider trying Swedish snus, or other smokeless tobacco alternatives, to supplement your e-cigarette. For some people, this is the key to quitting cigs. And from there, you can taper down on the snus until it's just e-cigarettes.

EDIT: Rosa is right - you may also need to try a more powerful e-cig. The one you've got is ok, but it's not uncommon for super-mini's to just not have enough power to get someone totally off cigs.

I always thought that the 510 was like the best one available to get? I heard about the 808 one too but I thought the 510 was just as good?

very very true. With 4000 chemicals being released into our systems, its only logical that our bodies would "get used" to getting those chemicals as well.

kencan98,

Ive tried several e cigs. The 510 was what got me off analogs but I vape at 36mg. On my other e cigs I could get through the day, but the early morning nic fit was too strong for my previous e cigs to beat back. Once I got my 510 I was able to defeat that early morning nic fit.

Ive been trying to cut back to 24 mgs but its just not satisfying me.I strongly urge you to try this:

Get yourself a bottle of high nic of an e juice you enjoy. Also, get a bottle of 0 nic juice of the exact same flavor. Then mix down the high nic to various nic levels until you find the one that works best for you.

Tasty vapor offers great deals on their juice and doublers. Doublers are twice the amount of juice but they have no nicotine in them. On their FAQ page they have the ratios listed. And Ive personally found all my favorite juices at Tasty Vapor. Im to the point now that I purchase 48mg juice and mix it down to 36mg or 30mg.

I believe this to be very, very true. I offically quit smoking in January of this year but still like an occasion menthol cigarette especially depending on my stress level at work. I don't really enjoy the taste as much as the satisfaction I get from it.

The 510 is a good slim e-cig, hubby and I use them as back ups to our eGo's, which are cigar fat in size, when we want to use something slimmer. The advantage of the eGo is it's much longer battery life over the 510, it's like a 510 on steroids ... lol.

Conventional wisdom has it that the 510 & KR808 are The beginner devices. Don't even get people started on which is best, because we're irrationally passionate about our opinions on that. Entire 100+ page threads have been devoted to it; marriages have been dissolved over it.

For your circumstances, I'd give the nod to a 510 only because there's little argument that it produces somewhat more visible vapor, and that's satisfying to the beast within on a psychological level. Also, if a more muscular PV is the answer, it opens a compatibility door to the obvious step up--eGo, Riva, Hello 016--that are threaded to accept 510 attys.

I read a study comparison of the chemicals in cigarettes. Newport was the leader with the worst tobacco and the most addictive chemicals. I would expect NLs to be just as nasty. I think the chemical additives in your brand are causing you the most problem. I also believe causing you this problem is the reason the chemicals are present in your brand....For this reason I'd keep a pack to ease the pain. You can up the nic to 24/36 and that may help but I still feel the chemical withdrawal to be more of the problem than nicotine....Good luck........

Yeah Newports were mentioned by name right off the bat as being the absolute worst possible cigarette you could smoke. Not only the most additives but the highest amounts and worst tobacco. IDK about SD but here in NC Newports target the Black community. Let me say right now I have many Black friends....they seem to prefer Newports first and Kools second...Kool lead the pack before the Newports arrived...All this given it would seem to a "REDNECK PERFESSER" that a Newport would be the hardest cigarette to kick....Get them addicted and keep them addicted......There's no way those boys can kick all these chemicals!!<<Overheard at Newport HQ by a secret double agent.....The FDA BTW is GOOD with the addition of all those addictive chemicals. Don't ever trust them.........Our welfare is not their main concern....that has become quiet obvious....even to a previously unconcerned Southern Boy....
