Question About Batteries

Alright, I'm putting together a list of things to get for my next order. I need new batteries since the ones I got from my Ultimate Automatic Kit are losing charge quicker than when I first got them (February 2010-ish).

Six months before my 2 automatic batteries need to be replaced. Is that normal/average? What's the average lifespan of these things?

From what I can tell, the $17.50 version is the 2nd reiteration of the $16.45 version. What does that mean exactly? Does it hold a charge better and thus last longer? Bigger holes perhaps? Please help me decide between the two. Thanks

1. It depends on how often you recharge it. They can only charge a limited amount of times (about 300 if I recall correctly) until they go dead.

Yes that is very normal for your first question, they last between 3-8 months.

the new batts dont have a 5 sec cut off. (old ones do) i think the new cut off is 10 or 13 secs.

Nope, old was 7-10 new is 10-13 cut off.

Thank you for the answers. Yeah, I've been using my autos every day. I think I'm ready to try out the "new" manuals

I have 7 batts total (working on getting all Colors, ha!) that I rotate day to day instead of using the same 2 constantly. I have 2 that I have had since Jan. 2010 and they are charging and working just fine. I use Auto XL Newest, single logo.
