Greetings,

This may seem ...., but what is the best position to lay down your e-cig (specifically a 510), for example, while sitting at my desk for hours at a time?

1. Vertical, cart side down (keeps atty nicely drained)?
2. Vertical, cart side up (keeps atty nicely moistened)?
3. Horizontal (the simplest)
4. Blimey, who cares?

Many thanks.

I use a lanyard, so mine hangs vertically most of the time at work, but I lay it horizontal at home. Draining into the battery shouldn't happen unless you've flooded the atomizer, or it's defective and leaking.

Hurrah - someone in favour of the worktime lanyard - I couldn't live without mine!

Thanks, Leaford, I can stop worrying about the batteries now.

When I was on vacation I had a friend of mine, a local artist, make me a new lanyard and holder out of leather. It's realll nice. Next time I'm going to have him paint one.

I have heard many people discuss hanging their PV on a lanyard.
What kind of end is on your lanyard (metal clip or plastic strap with snap?), and how do you attach your PV to the lanyard?

Many thanks.
The E-cig lanyards most people have are bags hung on the end of a lanyard. Usually the lanyard is attached. Mine's a leather holster kind of thing, and the lanyard is a leather thong running through a hole in the holster. I've looked for but haven't found any kind of clip on lanyard that would work. I know there is, or at least once was, such a thing because I remember teachers using them for pens. But I just can't find it. :(

I haven't tried this but I saw a user on ECF was using the sunglasses strap as a necklace with the PV secured by the little clear rubbery "hoops" on either end.

I seriously thought about this option in the beginning, because I had a really hard time keeping up with my PV. Luckily, I don't have this problem anymore, it is always attached to my mouth. :D

I'll be interested to see how the lanyard plays out. For me, this option would be better. Please keep us posted. :)

ROFL!! Good one mamacat :)

I consider my PV my adult pacifier - always sucking on it.

My brother has attached his to an eyeglass strap and wears it around his neck.

I don't do that though - I can't quite get my SD to fit through the ends - hum, wonder why hahaha!

Whoa!
I've never met an SD in person, but I imagine wearing an SD around one's neck for any length of time would necessitate many visits to the chiropractor...plus it could blacken your eye if you jump around too much...

Nah, whatever the PV, an elastic band and a shoelace/cord/lanyard/ribbon/chain will provide the handsfree solution.

When typing I sometimes fix my Evo/Pilot to the back of my middle finger.

Y not?

How about a hockey goalie's mask with the PV wedged through the mouth hole?

Very dignified! :w00t:

During a brief googling, I did find these two suppliers (bulk, custom imprint companies) that sell lanyards with a soft rubber tube on one end in which to plug a pen.

A Spectrum of Promotional Products - 1/2" Knitted Cotton & Metal Lanyard Neck Pen Lanyard - NP

Suspend-a-Pen Holder (Item No. 6979) promotional product review, Rated 4.9 by 4imprint customers

The second company offers free sample of their products, so I requested one. I rather preferred the look of the second one because it had a simpler, less conspicuous cord. I just hope I didn't open myself up to endless sales pitches afterwards. If these doo-dads work well with a decent array of PV's, it would be very cool for some of our fave e-cig vendors to order an imprinted batch and offer them for sale on their websites.

I received the free sample of the imprintable pen lanyard from here:

It has a squishy rubber/vinyl sleeve on the end to hold (presumably) a pen. I just jammed the battery end of my 510 up the sleeve and it holds it nice and snugly, yet not unremovably. The 510 fits in far enough to be snug, yet still leave a few mm of clearance above the manual button. My only complaint is that the lanyard cord is quite chintzy and feel a bit scratchy on my neck if I pull on it, but that is fairly minor. A pricier lanyard with a ribbon instead of the cord probly would be comfier.

Here is a picture of my 510 manual "wearing" the lanyard:
