Question about eGo and Riva batteries

I'm fairly new to vaping. I've been using an eGo 900 mah battery, which I believe is 3.2v, please correct me if I am wrong. I have been looking at the Riva 1300mah batts. Is there that much difference between my eGo batts and the Riva at 3.7v.

I am very satisfied with my eGo and Boge 2.0 cartos, but I don't want to go lower than 2.0 ohm cartos to avoid batt damage. I know some do, but I don't want to risk it.

I just sold some dual coil cartos because I didn't want to use them. Would a Riva 1300mah batt at 3.7v allow me to better experience the dual coil cartos, or am I wasting money? Is there an advantage here or not?

For a month I am using dualies 1.5 ohms on Rivas SE true 3.7 volt 750mA bats and Ego 3.4V 900mA bats. Had no problems. After charging, they read 4.2 Volts. I do charge them before the bat turns itself off, don´t know if this makes any diference. Probably it will short their life span, so what. The dualies are the best thing I ever vaped, are you going to miss that for a longer bat life? I live in Europe, and am frequently in Germany, where there is no speed limit on the motorways, and even if normally I am not a speed freek, I enjoy to put my car there at 180 or 200 kmh. That makes you feel alive. So spend 10 bucks more on bateries per year, and vape whatever you like best, or get a cheap 3.7 box mod at madvapes 24~$, or from danski at ecf for a 20$, and get some trustfire batteries from deal Extreme for 4.50~$ per pair 900mA and you will even be cheaper off then with your Egos or Rivas now.

As far as when the best time is to recharge a batt, I asked this on the Vets forum, and this was my reply:

"Lithium batteries have no memory effect and they benefit from recharging early rather than being deeply discharged. Some more technical reasons for this can be found here - http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

In short yes, you can recharge before the warning light tells you that you have to, and this may prolong the life of the battery."

I have eGo batts, 900mah and 1000mah. I though eGo was 3.2v. I gotta get a meter.

The mAh rating is the capacity of the battery to hold a charge, higher will last longer in between charges. It has nothing to do with output which is voltage. A regular 510 battery will output the same voltage as a Riva/Ego, it just won't last as long doing it.

The Riva and Ego output basically the same regulated voltage, 3.4ish. There is a Riva model, the Riva SE that outputs 3.7v but it’s not regulated the voltage will drop as the battery is depleted until it's time to charge. So as where you’ll get a consent 3.4ish vape on the regular Ego/Riva models the output drop with usage on the SE until it’s time to charge the battery much like any 3.7v mod. The plus to those is even when it’s time to charge the battery it should be at or above the 3.4ish v output of the other Riva/Ego models.

So you can use dual core cartos and many do on these batteries whether they are 650mah or 1300 mah. Just understand they are drawing more power from the battery and will shorten the life both in between charges and overall due to more frequent charging. Most don't think that's a big deal for the performance they give.

PS there's also the possibility of the draw being enough on the dual cores to damage the mofset just like any other low ohm carto but I haven't heard of anyone having that issue with these....yet.

Love my boge 2.0 on the riva with the cone! not so much on the eGo. In fact I'd rather use the boge 2.0 on my Riva rather than my 3.7 box mod. with the riva and the cone, the draw is much more smooth and the flavor seems fuller and richer.

I've heard the riva SE is higher voltage than the riva lite bundle but I don't know.. I can def tell a diff between the riva (I bought the lite bundle at Liberty Flights) and the ego. I've always thought that the difference between the riva lite and the riva se was just the color.

All Liberty Flights Rivas are 3.7v devices now. ALL. I like the SEs better due to the silver band versus the gold. But they are all 3.7v now.

Good to know that they are all true 3.7 now. They come of the charger at 4.2 and then gradually go down. when they are at 3.5 or 3.6 I charge them again. Mainly I use the rivas when I am out, and home I use a cheap 3.7 box mod. If the battery from the box mod isn´t performing as it should anymore, because of the to high discharge it gets with the dualies, its just lost, and it costs only about 2.25$ to get a trustfire from DE. I buy them allways 3 pairs at a time.
