I'm sure I already know, but is the black Provari powder coated and durable? My coin jar is filling up little by little and hope to have one before too long.
Its actually a cerakote and is amazingly durable. Its like powder coating but its ceramic thats baked on. Its what is used on firearms and such. I have had mine for about 3 months and with everyday heavy use there are no scratched on it that I can see.

yeah, the finish certainly won't rub off. It's made of some type of ceramic. However if you drop it, it might chip or something, who knows. I haven't dropped mine yet.
My satin blue Provari has survived falls from a locker room bench onto hard tile floors, and falling from my lap when getting out of my car onto the asphault parking lot with nary a scratch. It's tough stuff.
Thanks guys! My question has been answered. I didn't know the composition of the paint, but I did suspect it's durable. Scratch or no, I'm going after a blem.
Well here's a answer from someone that's had a Black Provari mini since day 1 of release. I pocket carry it daily. The finish will wear off. Now if you baby it & leave it for home use only or use a sleeve or j wrap the finish will be fine. Best way to describe it would be more like if you've ever seen a blued handgun with a ton of holster wear. That's what the finish will do. IMO that's not a bad thing, adds character & just shows that you use your tools.

Yeah a couple times. It's about 2 miles from my house. Tiny little spot kinda pricey but every now & then you can find a nice little something. I've gotten into high end 1911's recently.
