Question about using Vodka in our mixes... is it generally just for thinning...?

Or, do people use it for the flavors that it comes in...? Since I've never used it before, I thought I should ask about it before plunging directly into it. Are their other benefits to using Vodka as opposed to something else...? Also, one more... I don't think I really want to vape alcohol so i'm assuming it would need time for the alcohol to evaporate before vaping it...?

It's better safe than sorry on this part of mixing as I've never used it before, nearly everything else I have but, this I haven't. Opinions and suggestions are VERY well appreciated. :):2cool:

I don't use vodka. I use Everclear. I only use it for thinning.

Now if you use alcohol for thinning and then do something to evaporate it out, the question is why bother with alcohol in the first place?

Vodka is mostly PGA & water so if you don't want PGA in your mix then just use water. Distilled water if fairly pure and much less expensive even when you calculate the additional water needed over PGA for the same amount of thinning.

Thanks Hoosier... I didn't know, other than thinning it out. Appreciate it.

I dont use it but it adds lots of throat hit... was too much for me, even in small amounts.

I used vodka a couple of times just for the th and flavor. I liked it, but every time I vaped either of those two mixes for more then 4 or 5 hours my throat would become irritated so I quit using it. I don't recall the exact amounts used but they were small--just enough to make a difference.

Let's put it this way, go and look up pipe tobaccos and you will quickly see they all use some type of alcohol in their pipe tobaccos. Everyone keeps wondering why you don't get the same taste as tobaccos. Simple 99% of everyone making juices isn't following what the original pipe tobaccos were using for flavoring to begin with.

I bought some everclear last night, and all they had at the package store was 151 proof... They had another brand I hadn't heard of, Clear Springs, that was 190, and was a bit cheaper. Probably wouldn't have been able to tell the difference TBH, but I stuck with everclear.

I had never used it in juice, but I mixed in 3% and it does seem to add a little pop to the flavor. Subtle but noticeable. Works wonders for cleaning atomizers.

I haven't used it as such, but I would imagine it would work well as a thinning agent in 100% VG solutions.
