Question for Splitfire users...

Hello all,

decided to move from cig-a-like to the eVic a while back. With it I grabbed a Splitfire and a few replacement heads. I have done my first head replacement yet things seem different...where as the head that came installed gave me just the tiniest (almost inaudible) bit of crackle and just pushed the vapour into my mouth, the new head sounds like it is going off like popping candy!!! I am using same resistance head (1.8 ohm) and not a lot of voltage (3.4 usually, but tried downing to 3.2 to see if it settles this).

Suppose i am asking if this is normal? May have been the first head wasn't running the best and that's why it was so quiet but I did like just having the splitfire push the vapour into me quietly and relaxingly....this thing feels like the 4th of July echoing in my mouth.

Any ideas?

It shouldn't be crackling quite that much. I get a little every so often, but it's usually a single pop.

Make sure you have the head screwed on tight. The installed head on mine was not, and I ended up shorting it out before I knew what was going on.

Also make sure its wicked all the way. The little separation between head and wick makes it a little slower than the Vivi. I usually drip a bit onto the head, and the wicks surrounding it.

Mine is a 2.4 resistance head though, so I'm not sure if it makes a huge difference here.

I suppose last ditch effort is to try a third head.

Thanks for the replay zero7...after about 20 draws, its seems to have settled a bit. Made sure it was down good, the last one was. Had to use a teaspoon just to loosen it off. Hopefully its just the break in period. Only got a spare 1.8 and a 2.4 head - have to wait a few more weeks before building up my 'consumables supply' lol.

If you don't mind answering a n00b question, you ever use the 1.8, or go from a 2.8 to 2.4? if so, whats the difference? Or any other bits of kit you suggest, head/tank wise? Any experienced info helps, thanks in advance.

Have never used the Splitfire but realize the advertised ohms on delivery devices is usually not accurate. I'm using a quality 1.7 ohms single coil carto in a tank right now...measures out at 2.2 ohms. If you see a digital multi tester on sale prolly a good idea to pick it up. Test batts, delivery devices, chargers, etc and know the true ohms, voltage, etc.

The tank when it came was a 1.8 (fluctuated between 1.8 and 1.9 on the evic screen). The replacement head is also a 1.8 (it has shown between 1.6 and 1.8 on the evic test screen). Not one for going mad into testing it, just opinions on the differences between (taste, battery life, chances of exploding in your mouth if overpowered!!! lol)
