GG Telescopic Bottom

The center piece inside the bottom cap can be extended in a telescopic way to allow all sizes of batteries without using any kind of external parts.

i like this too, but if the button doesn't move locations then will the bottom post with spring still be long enough for the button to make contact when firing, and if it is long enough then won't it only be able to take the same length and number of batteries that it took before the bottom cap was lowered? there's gotta be something with the button and/or the bottom that allows for an additional 14mm in length to account for bigger batteries (stacked 15270s in the old Grant to stacked 16340s or a single 17670 in the new version). if the button could also be lowered to account for the lowered position of the bottom cap, spring and post, then this would work. if the side button were removed and the bottom cap functioned as a button to push the batteries up to make contact with the center post at the adapter it would work too. but either way i'm thinking that button has to be either completely removed with certain battery configurations, or at least be adjustable. of course a telescopic grant would solve all of this, but it wouldn't add the extra cm or so that imeo says the new Grant has. good guesses mist, even if you aren't right these may be ideas that imeo will put into future versions. :D

Was having a few issues and thought what about some exact battery length tubes to remove any contact issues and make a more solid unit?. I love 17340 Batts, 16340 now and then so a GGTS bare tube option with no telescope just one 88mm tube with required threading. Could get complicated with the 901 or 510 choice... ie shorter or longer..

Different tubes as needed?

Well, I thought that if the Grant was extended in length, it's precisely to be able to take 2 stacked 16340s. But then, it will be too long to take 2 stacked CR2s, or 1 single 14500 or even 1 single 16340.

So the distance inside the tube should be reduced.
yep, so telescope is probably the best way to reduce the length of the tube itself to fit all the different batteries. but if there is a telescope why would the length of the unit be listed as a cm longer than previous version? if there is a telescope to expand and retract it could be much shorter right? telescope would be great, and that would settle the GGT part of the mystery, but what about the B? and if there is no telescope, but maybe parts that transform the the tube from smaller to longer, depending on batteries used, then again what is the "B"? maybe we are all off base, but i can't think of anything other than a button relocation/adjustment/addition, or a bottom adjustment of some sort like you describe. who knows, but that's why i say "yay wednesday!"

but then the unit would have to be used with either a 17670 or 14670 or two stacked 16340s or 17340s, but not individual 16340s or 17340s, or 14500s, or 17500s unless spacer was included right? i get that too, it works, but i thought maybe it would be designed so as to keep it small with smaller batteries and make it longer with bigger or more batteries. i don't think imeo ever said that's what was going to happen, so i may have just been thinking wishfully the whole time. :D

but what about just an add-on piece, kind of like the transformer, or like the 2X18650 option, but just one specially sized piece of threaded tubing to extend and account for the stacked batteries? i like this idea too. seems like a bit more hassle than telescope, but a good option nonetheless! if the pieces attach the bottom cap to the rest of the body then no issues with atomizers or anything, and then it's able to be removed for smaller batteries. ahh but then again, it would need to be adjustable like a telescope to account for a 50mm battery like a 14500 or 17500 vs. a 34mm battery like a 16340 or 17340, and then a 65mm battery like a 17650/17670. that would be two or three separate pieces. not bad to have all those battery options, but then each piece would probably run the price of the Grant up too. i'm hoping it's a telescope, Hope, keeping the fingers crossed on this one! :D

but regardless, so either GG telescopic, or GG transformer, but what is the B...button, bottom, bling bling, ....... (as in no father to this model) or maybe borrowed (as in borrowed from the GGTS), or something else altogether?

BuGG,

The extra length is for the tube to allow 2 RCR123 batteries. Which length, the old Grant didn't have.

As for the telescoping process, it's not the tube itself that is a telescope, like in the GGTS, but only the center contact piece on the bottom cap.

Meaning the bottom cap has a telescoping center post. Therefore, Telescoping Bottom.

Aimed at a set of batts :)

But what's popular I guess...

These are just thoughts... If I come up with random stuff it's just my customers or myself having a thought. Discussion is cool :)

keep putting the thoughts out there, it just makes for possible improvements!!! :D plus, we have cappy, arry, and other members who may end up modding the mod and put some of these ideas into play later on.

telescoping center contact bottom post/piece thingy?
