Always better if you have a dedicated charger, but you can charge with your mods no problem.

It has safeties, so chances of the battery venting while charging in the mod is very very small.

For coils for the melo 3, there's a LOT that will fit it:

I prefer the Vaperasso cCells simply for once used, I take them apart and rebuild them (they are excellent quality shells). My rebuilds are actually better than just about every pre-built I've tried.

I don't normally charge batteries inside the Pico because I'm always using it, don't like being "tethered", it's much more convenient for me to just pop a fully charged battery in and go. Using a dedicated charger is likely best for obtaining optimum battery service life but charging batteries in the Pico should be just fine. Since the Pico vents from the bottom laying it on its side while charging unattended might not be a bad idea (just in case) or, perhaps just placing it on a fire rated surface while charging might be worth consideration that way you could leave it upright with the atty attached avoiding unnecessary wear and tear on the 510 threads (atty and mod). Dedicated chargers aren't immune from becoming a fire hazard either (they're plastic) so the same fire proof surface/containment might still be worth considering. My 4-bay charger sets on a 6x6 stone tile left over from a remodeling project... just in case.

Just wondering how safe it is to charge battery inside the mod and should I be leaning it on its side when charging so vent holes for battery are underneath?and for melo 3 mini can I use herakles plus coils ?
Do yourself a favor and get a dedicated charger.

Batteeies get hot when being charged. Better to ruin a $14 charger than ruin your mod and force yoy back on cigarettes

Yeah if a device has built in charging why do people feel you should not use it?
The main concern is that not all mods are build equal and there's been a few with crappy charging circuits.

I have multiple Eleaf mods, and they all charge just fine. The 50W and 100W had issues I believe, but every other model have been good or even stellar.

Another reason is that many mods charge at 1Amp, which is a "rapid" charge approach, while a charger will have the circuits to monitor the battery's charging rate and adjust.

Both mods and chargers should all flip to trickle charge once the battery is full, but batteries do get better life when charged slowly (at the 500mA or similar rate)

Most chargers will have a fast or slow mode. Either a switch, or by number of batteries being charges at the same time.

But with a mod, it's not that hard to prevent the 1A fast charge, just use a 500mA wall charger or use a computer's USB2.0 port.

Just do the charging overnight.

Because everything in mods like this is Micro sized. The recharge circuit is smaller than a dime.

A charger has the circuitry spread out to prevent over heating.

My iStick TC40W is a small MOD and I have used it while charging due to the pass through for over a year on a daily basis. Just because a circuit is small doesn't mean anything to me. Think of the charging circuits in tablets or even a Laptop. I have had to repair the power port on a Laptop a few times and those could fit on the board in an iStick. Size means nothing when it comes to electronics in my opinion.
