I have a friend who would like to try vaping to quit smoking. I've recommended the Subtank, seeing all the positive feedback here.

1. Nic level of juice for her to use? She smokes about a pack of Marlboro lights a day. 35-36 year smoker. She thinks 6mg because that's what she tried today in my Magma :). I said, weeelll, I think the Magma is probably a better delivery device. However, the Subtank might not be like my old Aerotanks either, that I used to vape 18-24mg in. So I'm not sure what to tell her.

2. What power are you running your 1.2 ohm coils at? How about the 0.5 ohm?

3. Anything else I should know to help uide her?

Subtank is gonna be "trial by fire" for a new vaper. Almost too much...cough cough ... at any wattage.

Yeah, 12 is too much in the subtank. I'm at 3mg. on either coil. 15 watts is a nice cool vape with flavour FOR ME. I'm in the minority here as most people vape at higher wattage. I used the .5 ohm coil...was ok. Much prefer the 1.2 and bought a bunch of coils in that range.

6ml capacity is REALLY excellent for at home use. I get days out of a tank, 2 smaller tanks going as well. I don't carry the subtank at work, too big. BUT convenient not having to fill it all the time at home. A new vaper isn't going to use the RBA so that's a waste.

I regret buying tanks in the past that I no longer use but thankful that I learned a lot starting with them....knowwhatI'msayin? Aerotank or nautilus? both stainless, excellent vape, nice to learn on....?

What mod will she be using? She will need to have one that fires at least a .5 ohm and can do at least 30 watts. With the sub tank most ppl use half nicotine that use in a regular tank.
The watts is a personal choice depends on how warm a vape she likes. As blacklung said smaller models are coming out. The mini is just smaller the mico does not have a rba deck.

To help guide her I would say make sure she finds a couple of good juices that she will vape all day.

I used 18mg in my aerotanks, and when I got my subtank I dropped all the way down to 6 because the draw is way more airy than the aerotanks and I am a straight lung hit kind of guy. Personaly I do not use the 1.2 coils because I like to sub-ohm, but I have my Segelei 100w set to 28watts for the .5ohm coils.

Nah... The Kanger k-simar 20 does .5 ohm ... 20 watt max. :D I know I know, it's hip to be square these days but Kanger put out this mod to work with the sub. Been solid for me.

We will be picking up the istick 50W. She liked my 20W the most of the 5 mods I brought for her to try. The 50W will serve her well into the future, has a DC signal for accuracy and SS threaded, floating 510 now. And excellent battery life.

She does not want to build coils. I'll help her with that later if she changes her mind. I showed her the builds in the RDAs I brought and in the tanks that allow access to the build deck so she could see them.

She sampled several of my juices and found two she liked a lot to help her get started. I gave her several websites to look at as well. And told her to go to a vape shop to try some there, too.
