Original tobacco
web site description: “This Original tobacco flavor is a great alternative to the old analog. This is a complex tobacco flavor earthy with a hint of sweet and a touch nutty. You will forget all about the pack and lighter after this one.”

Tennessee Cured
web site description: “This semi-sweet tobacco flavor is really a great everyday all day vape. Or dare I say smoke, you might just think your [sic] smoking this one. An awesome somewhat cigar or almost a captin [sic[ black like tobacco.”

Since I like QuickNicVapor’s RY4 so much, I wanted to see if QuickNic’s other tobacco-flavor juices were similarly wonderful. I ordered their Original Tobacco and Tennessee Cured, both at 18mg nic strength in a blend of 65PG/35VG. (I didn’t order their 555.)

I assessed these juices for review by dripping onto a Joye LR510 1.5 ohm atty powered by a Hello 016 battery providing about 4.0 volts.

The two juices are more similar than different, not twins, but definitely brothers from the same family. Performance is identical, with good throat hit for 18mg 65% PG, and the ample vapor we’d expect from 35% VG. Flavor is where the subtle differences emerge.

These are “flavored” tobacco juices, rather than “straight” tobaccos (i.e., PureCig). The base tobacco flavor is mixed with other flavors to produce a blend. I presume that the tobacco bases are the same, and that different additional flavors distinguish the two juices. Identifying those other flavors proved difficult for me. Both are fairly sweet, with Tennesee Cured the sweeter of the two. That sweetness has a tang that is almost liqueur-like, although I couldn’t pin down a specific flavor that caused it. Could it be honey? Cotton candy? I just don’t know.

Besides being less sweet, Original Tobacco also has some nuttiness in the blend. Not so nutty as to resemble 555 or DK-TAB, but sufficient to taste it in the blend.

All the flavor of both juices is strong on inhale and diminishes on exhale. After exhale, a slight residual sweet stickiness remains on my lips, as well as the sensation of a sweet coating on my tongue. Most tobacco blends from other vendors don’t leave this residual sensation. For me, the stickiness detracts just a bit from the juices’ potential for extended vaping sessions. I found myself taking a drink of water, coffee, or diet cola (whichever liquid I had on my desk) every five or six tokes, if not to cleanse my palate, at least to remove the stickiness.

I rate Original Tobacco and Tennessee Cured as pretty good vapes, though not so delicious as QuickNic’s RY4. My taste buds tell me that the tobacco base is similar if not identical in all three---and that’s very good---but the addition of caramel and vanilla in the RY4 brings out the best of that base more than the elusive sweet flavor in these.

Rich and Adele at QuickNicVapor custom mix their juices fresh for each order, so on my next order for these I’ll ask for less sweetness and more straight tobacco. Since taste is so individual and subjective, however, you may find them satisfying exactly as they are made now.

After another day's vaping, I want to add a couple of additions/revisions to the original review:

First, I wonder if the sweet tang I taste might not be from vanilla. Maybe not, but that's today's guess.

Second, the "stickiness" on my lips I mentioned is less present today than it was yesterday. Perhaps it was more pronounced before because I'd been vaping juices all day long. Anyway, today it's much reduced.

Third, I found myself reaching for the VV box/dual-coil carto loaded with Tennessee Cured today whenever I wanted a sweeter tobacco. Both juices are really quite good in that category, like cognac after a meal (I don't actually drink alcohol at all, but you know what I mean). They live on the border between straight tobacco and dessert juices, which is a perfectly fine place to be.
