Althought nobody was really interested in the last thread i opened about a month ago because it was "too long"
I'm going to shorten this right to the point. I'm not seeking medical advice. I am simply curious to see how many of us are out there(same issue as mine) and what did they do to overcome this.
quit cigs 2 months ago (Last cig that is [was slowly dropping cigs every week till i hit 0. basically from half a pack a day for 5 years]).
Got strep a week later put on antibiotics (NOTICED BUMPS IN THE BACK OF THROAT)
Week later felt way better and no more sickness (BUT BUMPS WERE STILL THERE)
went to another doctor about the bumps and she said i was just stressing, gave it time and in 2 weeks no improvement.
Went to an ENT and she said it could be LPR due to GERD.

So that was just the basic lets get to what i am wondering. I have managed to go almost two weeks without the vape so techinically yay for me for quitting NICOTINE :) and herb and coffee lol. My concern is this feeling in my throat as something is stuck there, the main reason i stopped vaping is because everything ill hit it i feel it coming on and very uncomforable and will last for minutes, no matter how much water i drink it does not help! So lately after i stopped i noticed ofcourse it is better because i dont vape but it still there! it doesnt happened for the first 4 hours of the morning but then it creeps on me litearaly for almost the whole day (Comes and goes every 30 minutes and lasts for about a minute) I try to clean my thorat , nothing comes out besides spit. I have tried and still doing every natural remedy u can think of plus i got 1 more pill (zantac [ Ranitidine]) Left. My follow up appointment is next week. WHY DO I HAVE TO SUFFER???? I already gave up about worrying about the bumps which by the way has not became better nor worse, But this half chocking half got something stuck in my throat still chases me. Why is this happeneing???? I eat organic and all good food now and even gave up coffee!! GOD please help me and the community that silently having to deal with this as well:/:confused::confused::confused::confused: i miss :vapor:

Years ago I used to sleep with a bottle of Rolaids on the night stand because I'd wake up with severe GERD. Later on I started taking Prilosec and HAD to take at least 2 per day to keep it at bay. About 3 years ago I completely changed my diet due to very high triglycerides. Other than a very low dose beta blocker, I now take no other medication and never have any problems.

Do a little research on healthy eating, don't expect overnight results and hang in there.

One more thing. I also take a quality probiotic daily. If I feel the slightest hint of something coming on, I'll take one in the AM and one in the PM.

Here's a good place to start your research. Nutrition Consultations: Integrative Medicine and Digestive Center (The probiotics help to feed that good bacteria.)

I used to vape only 100% VG so pg is not the issue. I dont suffer from allergies. I do take probiotics and do several daily natural remedies which i can mention if you would like. Still no improvement with the throat, ITS THE SENSATION THAT BOTHERS ME THE MOST! I have changed my diet, i eat 5 times better now than ever, and i only drink water! i read a few posts of people here mainly if you look " Feels like something stuck in my throat vaping" in google but none of those people issues were resolved the thread usually gets locked before any kinda anwser from the poster is issued! unfortunately

Did you consider the flavorings.. I am a 100% vg person also, when I vape blackberry for example it is drier. Also, non pg flavorings are often alcohol based.. so that could possibly be causing some irritation maybe? It's all I can think of. I hope you find your answer... :)

Yeah i have noticed that lol but it doesnt apply to my case since nothing got exactly better because i stopped vaping alltogher 2 weeks ago. and yes but ive seen other people with the same issue i dont want the ent to prescribe me stuff because what they might "think" is going on. Taking pills for no reason is dangergous!!
Plus ive read what im going thru could be a result of quitting cigs and nicotine. Any insight on that??:?:

Yes, it could be stress -- does it feel like choking? I sometimes get that feeling when I'm terribly stressed, and quitting cigarettes is a really good way to bring on stress. I'm not saying "it's all in your head," because you feel what you feel -- but stress can make you feel breathless, or choking, or it can make the pulse in your throat extremely, aggravatingly, noticeable, so it feels like something is "stuck in your throat."

Actually I feel "stuff" in my throat if I vape high VG, I guess it's phlegm, but it's hard to get rid of; drinking water helps, but mainly I stick to 80%-85% PG, and don't get the problem.

Am I understanding this correctly? You haven't been vaping or smoking for 2 weeks now and still having throat problems? If so... I doubt it's vaping related.

I fully understand about the no meds... I swore off the medical profession years ago... only exception I have is dire emergency only.. As for natural remedies... I would recommend buckwheat honey.. 1/2 teaspoon in a cup of hot black tea twice a day. It might taste good in coffee, I don't know. I don't drink coffee. I am not a medical practitioner or anything of the sort.. google buckwheat honey if you don't know about this..

FWIW, I've been around here for about 2 1/2 years now and don't remember anyone having the same issues you are having.

Good for you on quitting smoking and vaping :thumb:. Sorry you're suffering with these issues. As I said, I don't know of anyone else who has the same issues, so I can't help with that.

If I were in your position I would continue to work with the medical people to figure out what's going on. I'm not a doctor, but I imagine there is probably a root cause for the symptoms you're experiencing.

Best of luck with it and I hope you get some answers ASAP :)

firstly either EENT or a GI doc, you need to get a scope down there and find out what's going on..biopsy whatever..let the docs do their job.

not sure how old you are..how many years you smoked..but ANY difficulty swallowing or pain upon swallowing is a WARNING sign potentially of something more severe.

The thing is. It's no painful. And it is true on the days that I dont. Work it's slightly better but I also noticed that when I drink tea it comes and goes. And honey is great I've tried that plus other countless thinngs. Aloe vera helps the feeling go away temporarly but comes Back. When I eat it goes away and then it comes back later. As far as bumps it's still not any better but lucky not any worse. When I vape those lymph nodes would. Get almost twice in size and red as hell

As for "bumps" on the back of the tongue... I have those, always have -- I thought everyone did...?

And I'm not sure what you mean about lymph nodes being "twice the size and red as hell" -- you can't see lymph nodes, they're buried deep in the tissue. What you may be seeing are your tonsils. They're on the sides of the throat, in little "pockets" -- I can see the pockets now, since I had my tonsils out when I was 17.

So, basically, you're saying that coffee, cigarettes, ?alcohol?, and pesticides, combined with preservatives and a to-hell-with-it diet all combined to give you "normal" throat function and kept any little white spots at bay. On the other hand, being healthy and "organic" got you white spots and messed up throat. Got it.

Thanks for the info.

;)
(Wating for all the "Oh! I'm good then" posts...)

Seriously, go with the doc's advice and get more tests. :)
E-juice can irritate throat. The usual advice is "drink lots of water". Also, cut down on nic, and use as low a voltage as you can, and don't cloud chase or make sure you keep the heat down as much as possible. Maybe try unflavored and/or switch up the PG/VG ratio if you have no allergies to it.
