Warning: My Aspire Atlantis coil just FELL APART while I was vaping, and particles got lodged in my throat.

Ok....so I just read ALL 14 pages! When cars were causing accidents and killing people do you think the car companies would have fixed the defects if NOBODY informed the people what was going on? Thank you super for informing the people of possible defects . This is a step forward to getting coil makers to get it right and fix this.
When I first got my Nauti mini it was spitting juice all the time cuz of bad coils.

How do we even know if it was the coil that was defective, and not the user?

Sometimes, I can't run my Atlantis or Subtank at 30 watts without getting dry hits or my tip becoming too hot.

I read that some people run their sub-ohm coils at 40w-50w and that just baffles me, they're asking for trouble in my opinion. I always run mine at the suggested 15w-30w, I never go higher than that. My sweet spot is 20 watts.

I'm not going to attempt it. But what if Super had his wattage cranked up past 30w and ultimately blew his coil up? Or that the wattage was so high that it baked the juice onto the coil and he happened to inhale a glob of it?

There isn't a screen protecting the center of the BVC, so if something was to bake onto the coil in the center from too high of wattage, there's definitely the possibility of inhaling that.

+1 on Supermarket not letting the masses make you not want to post. You had an issue and for better or worse you got an epic number of responses. I'd call that a success.

I don't have one of those devices, nor am I into sub-Ω use. However, frustration with machine-made consumable atomizer heads/wicks is what gave me the little push I needed to move on to a KFL+. There wasn't any snotty looking goop forming, or burning cinders of something going in my throat. They just never worked consistently well and it was one more thing I had to remember to keep in stock to avoid running out. I highly recommend you give a rebuildable a try. They aren't as fussy as they look. They even have large gauge low resistance wire you can hook up to a truck battery if a thousand watt vape is what you're into.

When I look back at the years I smoked tobacco, this sort of problem really looks small. Clothing and furniture that smelled like crap, burns on everything near my hand, ashes and smoke flying into my eyes. You name it. Yet I'd just grab another one after that and hope for the best. It's been a long time, but to me, a really bad day vaping is still way better than a good day of smoking ever was.

So you didn't even bother to read the original post????

From the OP--page 1, post 1.

I did NOTHING out of the ordinary, and it was only running at 3.8volts (22watts or so).

At the risk of repeating myself, yet again, Forum Rules: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-forum-rules/51178-forum-rules.html

9. Personal attacks
You can disagree with the subject matter of a post, but never personally attack the poster - “Attack the post, not the poster”. Treat people as you would like to be treated yourself: with courtesy.

Unrelated to the above:

Reading comprehension goes a long way when we deal with the written word. Also, take into consideration the post history, not necessarily the post count, of the person you are saying doesn't know what they are doing. If we read past posts, which are easy to find by simply clicking on that members profile and clicking on "View Forum Posts", you will find if they do indeed know what is what. That they do know safety from recklessness. That the member does indeed preach safety above all else.

Thank you and have a great evening.

If it's designed and\or made by humans it is not 100% perfect both the Atlantis and the coils have attracted crtisism and earnt it to be honest. Also you can use something perfectly safely and still have it go wrong it's called luck good or bad we all have it in differing degrees. I have never understood this loyalty people have to companys or their products defending at all odds seems very weird to me although I'll talk well of things that work well for me I don't assume its perfect or beyond being at fault. An active member in good standing had something happen that he felt could happen to others using the same equipment so made a post immediately and when he was able put up pictures he did the right thing.
