Warning: My Aspire Atlantis coil just FELL APART while I was vaping, and particles got lodged in my throat.

The nervous type energy of waiting and worrying also can lead to a thread getting silly or goofy. I didn't feel like the OP was "Attacked" I was just killing time til the OP posted the pics. This is what I was trying to say in my other post but it didnt come out right.

Aww you're good :)
I did read the whole thread and I did notice there was some antsy feelings while waiting ;)
It happens. Patience is sometimes hard to maintain.

*sigh*

I know... But I don't take it personally any more. I just ignore the haters, the jeers, the trolls, the gerbils, the unhatched eggs, the uninformed and the unwilling to be informed. :)

If we don't look out for one another, nobody else will. This forum saves lives--and God bless Smokey Joe for starting it! He is a Brit also, BTW. In case you didn't know. :D

Well I guess that due to the thread's length it was difficult to track who said what. In my case I have stated twice that I believe that the Atlantis has a design issue. The later alien eggs joke was a tease to the OP not posting the pics, and in no way an endorsement of the Atlantis.

Amen.

I also believe that most of us switched to vaping in order to improve our health. I strongly believe in the concept of tobacco harm reduction. And I hope that, in our zeal to design more powerful and efficient PVs, we'll never forget why we switched to vaping in the first place.

And since you mentioned watt wars, I think it's time for Victor. ;) Just bear in mind that he's not a professional vaper!

Yeah, great how it bursts into flames at 2:09. Nothin' like a 260 watt flamethrower to get yer fire in the lungs vape on, only for professional vapers!

Sorry, caramel.

I was pretty exasperated at that point and your picture became collateral damage. I didn't really mean to single anyone out or mention any names--I was just venting, I guess. I apologize.

:danger: Jesus. Thats actually quite scary. Its malfunctions like this that make vaping look scary!!! I remember I was hesitant at first after hearing of some of them blowing up in peoples faces.

If you look at the sheer number of vapers and the insane amount of devices that are out there, you see how few accidents there really are. The community does quite an admirable job of bringing problems to light and the longer you are part of it, you will notice how quickly we get things changed....for the better. We don't wait around until the government decides that 10,000 accidents finally means something will get done. It usually happens after a LOT less get reported.

We have people that delight in taking things apart to see how they work and what they are made up of. These are the people that usually bring problems to our attention. Rarely does it end up being because of an accident.

We totally stress battery safety. The boards go nuts when an incident happens and all the people try to figure out how that could have happened. If they can do that, they then can figure out how to prevent it from happening again. Most accidents occur (battery) because of mislabeled batteries or "fake" batteries. If you have a question on whether or not you actually have a safe battery, post and people can help you determine whether or not it is safe or genuine.

Research where reputable dealers are.

Right.

Not only that. While we're on the subject of 260 watt mods. I'm sure that our experienced high-wattage vapers will tell you that one can vape at 260 watts--with a correct atomizer, build, wire gauge and enough airflow. But this mod is certainly not a plug and play device, as Victor found out.

On the other hand, one can get a nasty and probably very unhealthy dry hit from an eGo battery and a cartomizer or clearomizer at 7 watts.

Which is why we need this forum, and other forums like this one, where new and experienced vapers alike can ask questions and request assistance without the fear of being laughed at. :p

Off my box now. I promise. ;)

Ok....so I just read ALL 14 pages! When cars were causing accidents and killing people do you think the car companies would have fixed the defects if NOBODY informed the people what was going on? Thank you super for informing the people of possible defects . This is a step forward to getting coil makers to get it right and fix this.
When I first got my Nauti mini it was spitting juice all the time cuz of bad coils. I got so stressed about it that I started inserting a small piece of loose cotton in the drip tip to catch the spits. I still use cotton in the drip tip even if the Nauti no longer spits up. Hey it works for me so there.

I have posted pics of much gunkier Atlantis coils after running a ton of Grants and BB through it. I posted them in one of the "other threads." The screen caught any particular matter that may have leaped out into my aveolis...I tend to not "overvape" them and mostly just rebuild them with KGD after removing the fill material.
