I had a bad throat from GERD for months and months a few years back.

After exhausting all medicines, etc. I underwent an endoscopy, and voila! It disappeared immediately. Dr. couldn't say why. Found nothing, but it was gone.

Get a scope down your throat and maybe a biopsy to be sure it's nothing serious. Good luck to you. You're not alone.

So what did u end up doing? I had a scope down my nose she said my throat was inflammed and my nose that was a month ago it still is. Could I be allergic now due to vaping? I vaped around like 50 flavors the last year

Vaping around 50 flavors could surely cause problems. You may have reactions to several of them. Process of elimination is one way to go.

pain that goes away from eating generally is an ulcer..GERD that acid comes up the esophagus and erodes and the honey and aloe could be offering temp relieve much like TUMS does when folks have heartburn....so get checked out ok?

could be the vaping..have you picked one flavor and gone 100% VG and tried with that?

only change one variable at a time when trying to figure out what's causing something.

If you haven't vaped for a couple of weeks, then what ever is still going on may not be directly vaping related. Keep not vaping for now.

I tend to think that if a problem persists after stopping stuff, that the stuff that you stopped wasn't the cause. However, I wouldn't start adding them back in until you know what is going on. There may be some clues in the actions that provide temporary relief.

I'm glad you have a follow up appointment scheduled. Hopefully that will give you more information. If your worried about meds, just tell the doc that you'd like to try any other interventions he or she can suggest first.

Am I understanding this correctly? You haven't been vaping or smoking for 2 weeks now and still having throat problems? If so... I doubt it's vaping related.

That's like saying people who develop skin cancer who haven't gone out in the sun for 5 years weren't affected by the sun, or that people who develop smoking related diseases, even though they had quit smoking for a short time, were not affected by smoking.

Everything is cumulative, damage is done and is not magically "undone" when we stop something.

There is much we do not know about vaping. I cured myself of GERD (was on Nexium for 15 years until I made very major dietary changes), but vaping has brought it back, for instance.

I suspect that subohming, and high watt vaping, due to increased heat passing along sensitive tissues, will be the next thing that will start to be discussed, same as custardy flavorings have become a point of concern.

ANY changes in mouth, tongue, throat, esophagus, lungs, etc.---in ANY PERSON WHO IS AN EX SMOKER----is cause for concern and should always be followed up with a medical professional. Whether you are vaping or not vaping. Vaping doesn't magically exempt people from cellular damage done by years of smoking. Vaping doesn't magically exempt people from contaminants, etc. that are being in contact iwth mouth, lungs, tissues, etc.

We just don't know. It is harm reduction. Not harm free.

Exercise. It may sound silly but eating right and exercising cures many of the ills in life. Make sure you get the recommended water intake in general. 8 a day. Then your body will need to heal.

Once I quit smoking started exercising and eating right. Mentally and physically everything became better. I get cranky now if I do not get the exercise.

Also have had this for about a month now not bigger or smaller. But it's like a gland under my jaw it's maybe about an inch it's sticking out and it's hard. CA t really notice unless u touch. Mom and gf don't have it. It's kinda concerning. Heard somewhere it could be due to the sore throat or cancer..:/ it's not painful

Did they test you for mononucleosis? (you know, "mono," "the kissing disease," etc)

I had something like that once. I could feel a ball / knot in my throat under my jaw when i swallowed anything. It turned out it was a knotted muscle from poor posture at my computer desk as well as being highly stressed due to "life". I got some muscle relaxers and changed my desk around and it all went away. I was very freaked out when it first appeared and thought the worst. But it was nothing like having actual bumps on the lining of my throat. I just mentioned this as food for thought

I've only had throat problems twice due to vaping (I believe). 1 was while using that ready wick, and the other was from Kogendo cotton. In both cases I felt like something was "stuck" to the inside of my throat and I couldn't get it up. It also felt funny to swallow and at times hurt. Since switching to a medical grade cotton, I haven't had that issue and when I did, it went away after 2ish weeks of stopping both of those.

When you said that about the swollen gland, is what made me think of mono; as far as I know, it's not a terribly serious ailment, but it does seem to affect the glands around the throat; swollen glands with not a lot of other symptoms could be a tell-tale. Of course, there's always "mumps," but most get innoculated for that in modern times -- I did, and I'm 53, so that vaccination has been around for awhile. And mumps in an adult is a radically worse disease than it is for kids; you'd probably have a lot of other and worse symptoms.

With swollen glands, that does seem to indicate some type of infection, somewhere; glands don't usually swell if there's not infection. Could even be something like an abscessed tooth, but I'm just about certain you'd know if you have an abscessed tooth, that's one of the worst pains EVER.

You are probably allergic to something buddy. If you are sure it's the E-Cig then continue the quest to find your answer. Realistically though, you should probably talk to your doctor about allergies, tonsils (if you still have them) and your diet. Because changing your diet could actually be your problem. "Eating healthy" is a subjective thing so I put my bet its something you eat. otherwise if it's a chronic illness you should probably stop reading forum posts here and call your doctor. Finally if you think your doctor is a quack and can't help you then you should probably start fishing for some allergy forums online for people who suffer the same symptoms. You used to smoke (something we should all remember) so by stopping that is the biggest shock to the system you could have ever enacted on your life. Good Luck! Just two cents from your friendly neighborhood chemist.
