I'm sure glad that my daughter doesn't act like that. She's really happy for me.

Dont get me wrong, my daughter is tickled pink that mom is not smoking...and has supported the whole thing. Now she is worried about moms nicotine addiction, Hubby says it is just her personality,,,she is a worrier.

lol I would have taken an overly sarcastic approach to your boss.I would have said "Oh,okay,do you agree with the reviews of my 510?Im looking to get my straw mod going or maybe some fluval action, the cartomizer fad is pretty cool too, huh? What do you think?"
When he obviously can't answer, just ask "I thought you knew about vaping?I generally don't talk about things I don't know about, that's the best way to carry yourself, don't you agree?"
lol
;)

LOLOLOLOL good one!!!

I also am a long time analog user, until 3 months ago..I smoked for 45 years and my daughter started keeping track of my vaping. How often did I have to reorder the juice, etc. My mom insists I need to take the mgs down to 0! I love smoking (vaping!!) I did this for my health that they were all soooo worried about. I do NOT COUGH a piece of my lung up anymore every morning. At Christmas I visited my other daughter and we had a snow blizzard. I would have been outside smoking in that very cold blizzard had it not been for my lovely 510. I have been reading a lot on here about the BIG BAN the FDA is working on. I have read that most of the people that want this banned have never seen an e-cig! I believe if it is related in anyway to cigarette then they say NO..and move on to things they feel are more important and they did their good deed for the day.

Later that day, as I was driving my boss home, I took 1 little drag off of my pv in my own car, and his comment was....
"I hope that in 3 years when they discover that the 2nd hand vapor is bad for other people, you are prepared to pay my medical expenses"!

Easy going me blew up again!!!I said "wow this is coming from someone who has drank so much that they are not even allowed to drive anymore??
Yep I know that was mean...
Then he said..."wow you really are having smoking withdrawls maybe you need a cig"!!!!! 8-o8-o8-o:shock::shock:

I think at that point I would have just stopped the car, told him to get out, and mentioned that it was only for his own good, because as he said, nobody knew whether those things are dangerous, and walking was healthier anyway.

mostly as far as the kid goes I'd let her know that I did not intend on giving up nicotine
Nicotine isn't all that bad for us and if it was a concern than WE as an entire family would be giving up pizza and french fries since it's naturally occuring in tommatos and potatos..
Oh and it's now being studied for the treatment of alzheimers, parkinsons, add & adhd, and other mental health disorders...
So if anything...I'm just prolonging how long I can remember what she does wrong and the ability to give HER grief about it...

As for the boss...find the insert for your ashma inhaler with the ingredients list (it should list PG on it, most do)..show that to him and let him know it's been in there since the 40s..follow the above argument above for the nic..then let him subtley know the only medical bills you forsee having to pat in the future are for the uneducated dolts that continue to give you grief about your PV without knowing what the hell they're talking about... after all it is your boss can't quite come out and threaten to throttle him

Sigh. It just seems as if no matter what you try to do there's always someone meddling. I've had 2 people, who have no idea what a PV is tell me that they are "bad". When I asked what they suggested I do to stop smoking, one said: Prayer works. And the other one said: Accupuncture works.

Snort. Sorry, but if either of those really worked, no one would smoke ever again.

Ignorance is total bliss for many people, I for one, choose not to be ignorant when it comes to stopping the cigs and what I have to do to make it happen.

Kiddies are being trained in school to nag their parents. I don't like that.

After I switched to ecig a few of my relative said they hope that I don't find out these are harmful to my health. I just laughed and said this has got to be better than cigarettes. After a while they realized I don't cough any more and even breathe bretter. My grandchildren love the ecig. They always put their finger over the light and laugh because it doesn't burn them.

It grips me when my husband talks about how much I have spent on ecigs. I told him I have actually save 300.00 of course I have been vaping 9 l/2 months. He told me I didn't need to order anything for a while. I went ahead and ordered a new SuperT 6 and can't wait until it comes in and he can grip. I don't know why its my money.

Thank you for the responses!!!
I WILL VAP!!!
Whenever, however, and whatever I want!
I know it is better for me, in the last 11 days I to have not had to use my inhaler for my asthma, I feel better and by God I can even laugh without having a coughing fit!!! LOL
I know my daughter means well, and I will try and educate her further on this topic....
As far as my boss??
He can kiss my sweet little vaping ....! LOL

I have one of those daughters, she use to come to my house reeking of perfume that always kicked my allergies into high gear and then complain if her father and I had a smoke in the bathroom (winter time our deck was exposed like a wind tunnel) of OUR house.
Kid meant well but drove me nuts-
She is happy and proud I quit but I have not really explained vaping to her.

So far I have had tons of positive support from friends (pretty much all of them non-smokers rather than former smokers) they get it- smoking is worse than plain nicotine- kill one bird first then worry about the other.

I too have used my inhaler 80% less the past week and have not once needed to use the nebulizer, I have not used food as a substitute and friends and family have not had to run and hide when they see me coming for fear I will take their heads off.

So for the first time in 30 years I have been able to put down the analogs. I have been smoke free since Jan 15th, the only way I have been able to win at doing this is with a PV. Thank God for the person who invented these!

Anyway, I have one kid (the one who bugged me the most about my smoking) who instead of being happy is now always asking me....
"how many carts did you use today"? and "When are you going to lower you're nicotine level"?

Now I am a pretty easy going person, but yesterday I blew up at her.
I told her to be happy that after 30 years I was doing something proactive and that if I never gave up nicotine that was my business!

Later that day, as I was driving my boss home, I took 1 little drag off of my pv in my own car, and his comment was....
"I hope that in 3 years when they discover that the 2nd hand vapor is bad for other people, you are prepared to pay my medical expenses"!

I have explained to everyone what a PV is and how it works.

It is almost like some people will always have something to complain about.

Yeah, apparently some ......s (kids excluded) can't seem to understand that while nicotine is an addiction, there are those of us who actually enjoy it (like we do caffeine), and are just glad to have found a much safer alternative to smoking...

Hang in there, people who have never experienced nicotine addiction have no idea what it is like. My daughter bugged me for years to get off analogs, watched me fail so many times to quit due to the awful withdrawal symptoms, and even though I haven't bought a pack for almost a month she's giving me a hard time because we saw an awful news story recently that said e-cigs "may" not be that safe (totally lax reporting, just opinions and no research). No matter how many times we explain the difference and benefits, those who aren't in our shoes will not see how wonderful this alternative is for us.

The real truth is that everyone has some sort of crutch, be it nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, etc...your boss would do well to realize this it sounds like.

30 years is a long time, congrats at getting off analogs. My wife and I were approaching 20 years of analogs and in less than a month of vaping only I can't put into words how much better I feel.
