and after starting vaping i had some but without much caughing ..I relate it to the vapor replacing smoke in the lungs im not sure
and i think i took 3 months to clear up...keep up with it vaping if fun i really enjoy it and i dont miss the smell of smoke

Tomorrow will be 5 weeks for me and I have been coughing up stuff for the last week or 2, and still have some looseness in my chest. I wonder if the vapor aids in loosening up crap in the lungs? I smoked for 13 years.

i bet it does loosen it,but i wonder why some people don't get the cough.(like me)

I smoked for ~38 yrs at less than 1/2 pad. I quit just short of 3 months ago and only recently have my lungs begun to clean themselves out, but only small amounts and not often.

I'm with you on that one Silent Scream. My wife said she noticed immediately that I no longer cough in the mornings...meh, I never thought I coughed at all!

This is Not a every person thing.
I think it depends on how healthy a person is and on if a person lives in a City with a lot of air pollution or on a farm with no pollution, and where they work. I think a person that works at a Coal mine would be more likely to cough up stuff then a person that works a office job for Green Peace.
Like lung cancer, I seen people that smoked for 30 years and have healthy lungs and other smoke for a few years an get lung cancer.

All people are different, I cough my .... off first whole week, But I used to wake up at night coughing stuff up.
Since I started Vaping I no longer cough.
If you didn't cough, I personally would take that as a good sign that you have healthy lungs But I am no Doctor.

I'm wondering if we can relegate this mythical ex smoker coughs their lungs up to urban legend status?

It seems nobody has experienced this yet? At the very least we should be able to say it's unlikely to occur. I haven't had even a sniff of it. I wonder if people who were already experiencing great difficulty with their lungs through smoking experienced this and the perpetuated the myth?

One thing that makes me wonder about it....... a friend of mine quit smoking a while back, just cold turkey. She went through all kinds of nastiness, including the coughing up yuck. So, it makes me curious that (SO FAR) the majority of quit-to-vaping doesn't really go through it. Just wondering.
