Hi! Welcome to the forum! I, for one, think it's a great idea and I wish I had known about all this before I had my kids....it would have saved me a lot of embarrassment and heartache. My kids came out healthy and fine despite my smoking up to the 4th month of pregnancy for each, but I was always so ashamed that I wasn't able to just quit. And then ashamed again after they were born that I wasn't able to stay quit. And then to have it all happen twice! (two kids) and the second one was even harder to stop smoking because the first one came out fine...
Anyway, it's good that you are doing it now! Just start out with a goodish amount of nicotine (enough to satisfy you) and slowly start backing down the mg until you get to 0mg--you have plenty of time. Plus, although it would look awkward, you should be able to safely vape 0mg forever if you want from what I've read. Or, if you like, you can just stop vaping then. Good Luck!

thanks. the plan is to be 0mg by the time i'm preg i'm going to try and suppliment my nicotine intake atm with patches. so we'll see how that goes

so, i'm confused are you going to vape w/nicotine and supplement? I recommend just getting a mg of nic juice that works for you (since the patch IMO is basically worthless and only works for about 5% of the people who try it) IMO

You just go, girl. I think you know where you are going.

Even though we can't advertise these as smoking cessation devices, many have used them for this.

Start with whatever nic content will get you off analogs, then work it down to 0 nic.

If you need help, then let us know. We will find that perfect next step for you, or mix it and send it to you. He he.

it should be relatively easy to quit vaping as compared to smoking, especially if you get your nic level down, but also because you will have eliminated your addiction to the MAOI's etc. that are in smokes AND in addition to that vaping takes the time element out of smoking because they don't "burn down" so I find that I'm not under any pressure to vape for any amount of time like I did with my smokes and also the pressure is off to smoke before going anywhere or doing anything because if the urge strikes me I can vape wherever and whenever (find a bathroom if I don't want to draw attention to it) so , to me at least, it seems like I don't have the same sense of urgency to vape that I had to smoke. Even now, having just started three weeks ago and vaping 24mg juice, I'm pretty sure I could stop relatively easily if I HAD to, thankfully I don't though because I enjoy it so.

Just wanted to add that I am doing the same thing. We want to start trying in October, so I have a few months to slowly cut back. I'm down to half a pack from a pack a day. I'm trying not to stress too much about quitting. I find if I'm watching the clock and telling myself that I can have a smoke every three hours it just makes me fixate on smoking. If i keep myself busy and just vape occasionally, the time passes and I'll realize that hours have passed since my last cigarette and I was just fine. I get more stressed out by the idea of nic withdrawal then the actual withdrawal.

Great idea. I was lucky in a way that when I got pregnant and the morning (all day...) sickness kicked in, I just could not even look at a cigarette... So by the time morning sickness passed, I was over cigarettes. Being or planning on getting pregnant is a great motivator to quit.

I quit with all 3 my pregnancies, but after the baby was born and life got back to normal, the cravings came back and I caved. Sort of became a symbol of me as a person and not a mommy. Maybe a bit of rebellion in there as well...

Good luck!
