SkvLTD, by chance, do you have a shot of your fogger with ss mesh? I'd like to try it too.

I actually don't, somehow, but it was straight forwards just like this one. I ultimately dialed in the mesh roll thickness to be just right to fit through the coil and fit very snug into the channels, so the chamber cap would compress it a bit and prevent leaking when you fill it. I ended up NOT using the silicone chimney ring since that restricted it too much. And lastly, I ditched the air hole piece insulator to avoid any possible burnt taste if the coil sat low enough to char it over time.

Else good pics of your coil man.

Well, sorta like stock, just no silica core and more mesh to really fill up the channels. When you first screw the cap on it feels like you shaping the wick ends down into the channels. And ofc a proper coil.

Never really had dry hits with that, and 13W sounds like waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much regardless of the setup.... I did like 8-9 tops and it worked peachy.

Yep that 500 mesh makes a difference. May have stated before that the ohms stabilized at 2.0. I'm now running it at 4.1-4.2 volts and its a pleasant warm vape. Vape production is variable at times, as is the temperature of the vape (weird) but no dry hits. I've had hits that felt a little dry, like overly harsh, but nothing unreasonable. Its working like a charm and I'm still running that sloppy build I did

How much of a kink is there in the mesh? Is there a point where the bend can inhibit the flow? I haven't fiddled with this yet, but planning on it and I'm curious about how much "wiggle room" there is....TIA

If you roll around something that adds a little rigidity you'll have an easier time curving the wick instead of the chamber walls bending it. I rolled around some 26 awg kanthal.

Thanks WattWick..... makes sense. I think 28 awg is the biggest I have. I can always pick up a little bit to see how it works. I'd really like to see how the mesh works for me. I do get tired of changing the cotton so frequently. What about rolling the mesh at an angle to the weave? Think it's called "on the bias".

That's what I did. Makes it much easier to bend. Didn't really believe it until I tried, but it does work wonders. Quite wasteful, tho...

I'd give that 28 awg a go. May be all you the rigidity you need.

Seem to remember watching a video of rolling mesh on the bias and thinking it was wasteful. But, I have so much mesh sitting here it won't make me too upset to give it a go. Bought several letter size sheets of mesh thinking I'd be going through it like crazy. Now, it sits...lol.
Maybe the 28 awg + bias rolling would work. Sort of "compensate" for the thinner gauge wire.....

Ah, then still no.
Rolling the mesh with the bias is like WattWick described. It helps when you are making a wick with bends -- fewer or reduced kinks. I wonder with the tight quarters in the evaporation chamber if the wick will kink somewhat no matter how you make it.

*Trying hard to avoid making jokes about the kinkyness of metal objects in places not meant for such activities*
What a devious mind you have, WattWick....lol . There have been several threads I've seen where I was sort of waiting for someone to "take the bait" and make a kinky comment based on what was being said. So far we all are remaining civil.... guess there still is hope? :D
