What do you think my chances are if I sandwich a Keystone dual 18650 battery holder between two small pieces of plywood and run it thru my table saw ultra slow to shave off 1.25mm? Will it crack? :)

I don't know but those keystones are very nice. I feel like they would do fine. I love how durable that nylon or whatever that is feels. Much better than those other ones. Those WILL crack, split, and chip. I've cut those with scissors before lol.

There is both voltage drop and battery sag and most vapers have no clue what the difference is. And most people who measure "voltage drop" are measuring a combination of the two. Of the two, in a regulated mod, sag is the only really relevant one. Voltage drop is going to be minimal unless you're using under size wire. In a mech voltage drop plays a larger role.

The tax farm known as USA.
Who is the guy on ebay claiming he is selling raptor boxes with solid silver wire for no volt drop. The volt drop is battery sag not loss of voltage through the wires, right?

Is there a 22650 sled available yet?

its marketing to people that dont know better OR his builds have an excesive sag without silver wire, either way i wouldn't make a purchase from such a person

When you lay 26650s flat on the bottom of 1590B, the highest part of the batteries comes about 1mm above the edge of the box. The lid adds 2mm more headroom, so basically ANY viable holder can only raise the batteries 1mm from the bottom of the box. The Keystone 18650 dual caddy design would generally fit this bill (except the design would need to be stretched to house 26650s).

Basically, there are no commercially made viable 26650 dual battery holders. Even the 3d printed ones, all of them are too thick. We should all send emails to Keystone!

Can anyone point me towards a part number for a 3PDT switch that can handle 20amps? I'm contemplating on a build based on Avpnut's schematics with a charger, however I'd like it to be a sliding switch, not a tall protruding tilting stick. My raptor box build OCD has taken over, I want to retire my current 26650 box and build me a 1590G like Mamu posted and also a new 1590B housing 18650s and a charger. Insanity. I Love it.

oh glob!

making a Raptor. Got the volt meter flush with the outside of the case right where I wanted it. made a hole for the 3 toggle switch right under the volt meter. wound up snipping more of the positive lead than I wanted. Now, soldering that positive lead from the volt meter to the 3 position slide is going to be sketchy. the wire is so thin im not sure how it's going to turn out now.

i did wind up taking the bottom and top of the box to a grinding wheel. it removed the slight pitch the hammond cases have. should be one of the nicer parts of this build. i hope to finish tomorrow

How does your box look inside, Jeepster?
LOL, ok, but it's quite ugly. First a little back story. I had a .28" blue meter I was going to use in this build buy my cat found it and used it as a chew toy. I had already cut the box to fit and didn't want to try to fit my .36" meter in it. I have another .28" meter on order and left more than enough room to fit it. Once I have it I will do the finish work. I plan to use epoxy to insulate and support everything.
I used stripboard to make the battery holder and found that I could use it to connect my chip to the caps, pulldown res and zener.

I have the .36" meter hooked up temporarily for testing.
