Mamu, your G and P boxes are AH-mazing.

You just raised the bar for all wannabe raptor box builders. Here I am, sucking on my self made crude dual 26650 hammond B-box and drooling over the craftmanship and detail of your handiwork. I'm like speechless, those are truly beautiful works of art! Maybe someday I can build myself something similar. I can wish, right? (dual 26650 is a wee bit on the heavy side, I could use it as a weapon [to defend myself that is])

You wouldn't happen to have part numbers for the strap fuses and the pot knob and p-fet shown in the parts picture? And also for the knob shown on the G-box picture (it seems different from the knob shown on the parts picture)?

edit: I meant to say P box on the first line, but my hands typed B box. Corrected it.

That's what I'm doing lol. I have some stripboard that I'm using and have the clips on the way. Here are the pieces cut and test fitted. I was planning on putting the nfet and 47k res in the little cavity at the bottom.

I put a crude battery connector in the bottom cavity to maximize space on top, and the two fuses on the left side next to the batts, because they are just too huge.

oh, these keeppower batteries are like 1mm to 1.5mm taller compared to sonys. not a great fit at the moment.

So Mamu, or anyone willing to help. :) I have a friends raptor box here that he says is broken. He tells me that the box is always on or always firing when switched on. Like the button has a short or something. I dont have any of my tools yet to check values or start digging. I just wanted to check in to see if this is something you have seen before and/or where to start diagnoses and testing. Solder short in the board, shorted button, shorted wires? Any other ideas? Would love some input. Thank you ahead of time to anyone willing to help!

Thank you for your kind words, texanator.

It's 1590G and 1550P, no B box too friggin big for me lol.

Strap fuses (2x 9A in parallel): MF-LR900/20-0

POT Knob: CA9M9067 (shipped from Germany - Transfer Multisort Elektronik - Electronic components)

P-FET: IPD042P03L3 G

lol I just realized I have the pot knob for the 1550P shown in that pic. The POT knob on the 1590G is a modded guitar knob that I had purchased quite a while back. I no longer have the part number for it just a baggie with a few left.

Mamu. What button is that?

Qlso, you have a part list for that g build?

The button on the 1590G is MSW-1202 12mm ss push button.

Strap fuses and a D-PAK P-FET and a 4.7K pull-down resistor are primarily the only parts I have changed from the parts I listed in the OP or elsewhere in this thread.

Here is my okr 1590G box. I have a large belt sander and shaved it until I got it straight.

Thank you, i will be sure to let you know what i find :) ANNNNDDDD - CAN SOMEONE please pretty please guide me through the parts list in the potentiometer set up for these boxes. All of the suggested 200ohm pots through mouser mentioned in mamus ist are out of stock.. id like to order through digikey, but im having a hard time figuring out the pot/shaft/knob set up that i can apply to some of my boxes. i have 7 raptor chips coming to me right now and i need to place an order for the potentiometer setups.. i have a list of components to order for everything else, but cant seem to get the pots on lock :/

Mamu, I have a schematic for you. I took your design and added in a functioning charging circuit on the "off" position on the master switch. When you switch it to the "off" postion it changes the batteries from series to parallel and connects the charger. I used a dna 30 charger ordered from evolve. The switch needs to be a rated 3PDT to handle 20amps. I built the box and its messy but it works. Its only a prototype, i will be building it a metal hammond box.

This is the parts list I used. Everything is in stock at mouser except the raptors.

Mouser Part list - using part list importer.
531-PT10MV-200|1
531-XEJPL5012-NE|1
271-220-RC|1
271-47K-RC|1
271-4.7K-RC|1
581-TAP226K016CRW|2
781-SUP85N03-04P-E3|1
781-SUP75P03-07-E3|1
650-RGEF900|2
512-1N5234C|1
706-30-200|1
546-1590B|1
534-1048|1
894-NSR020A0X43Z|1

edit -
1-This is a part list for the no idle draln diagram (on page 33).
2-Replace the 1590b box with a 1590g if you want the smaller one.
3-I didn't actually use that switch (706-30-200), I found it later after getting several others. This is the Mouser part # for the one I used, it's a tactile switched like the Hana boxes 611-KSJ0M431LFT.
4-My raptors are also shipping to me within a day or two so I haven't built it yet. I did build an OKR box.

It's a 2 wire charger on two batteries, charging them in parallel, how is the battery charge balanced between cells as there is no balance wire? Also, the USB charger pushes 500mA, I would think it would take quite a long time to charge near empty batts to full? (I do like it, but I always have questions)

it does take quite a while for them to charge. as far as balancing i thought that too, but in a parallel circuit it should bring both up to full charge. I have seen this before in a dna 30 mod and asked my electrician friend and he said that it would charge them both to full in parallel no problem. if i can find one with a bit more than 500ma it should charge faster but i don't want to go too high then it will get too hot.
